I took a two year gunsmith correspondence course long ago - wasn't bad for the $$, and ended up with good tools as part of the class. Company was NRI - but they went out of business. Only draw back was it WAS a correspondence course. The NRA has links to some real courses around the country. And of course there are many video "classes"for a specific firearm.
