ellie_18
Do any of you guys use it and if so have you experienced any of the advertised benefitssuch as increased accuracy?
techmike
If you are asking about the one sold by Colt, that kinda/maybe looks like a suppressor, in an e-mail from Colt Customer Service, it is strictly cosmetic. I asked last year when I purchased my M4 Ops. TM
techmike
Well, I just bought one from Colt/Umarex, wish I had got it from C.T.D., (half price), and it has a very high look-cool factor, it covers up all of the contours on the barrel. However, it adversely affected accuracy on my M-4 big time.TM
ellie_18
@Techmike, That's strange because I recently installed the unit myself with great results. Before I averaged 1" - 1 1/4" groups @50yds now most of my groups can be hidden by a nickel. Maybe it's an inconsistency in there machining process. Sorry about your bad experience maybe you could contact them tell them your problem and have it replaced.Improved accuracy is one of there product descriptions after all. I myself couldn't just suck up a $70.00 loss without some serious bitch'n at anyrate.
techmike
Yeah, looks like you called it Ellie_18 - looking in the muzzle end of the comp shows many ridges in the tube, and nicks in the crown. Guess Colt will be getting an e-mail.TM

techmike
I decided to lap the bore myself - won't have to pay return shipping...TM
Microgunner
You going to fire lap or slug lap it?
techmike
Neither - it is larger in diameter than the bore, but the inside was not smooth - bad machining marks, I used 1000 grit wet paper saturated in an industrial polishing solution, then blued it. Didn't get to the range today, went fishing instead.TM
