  1. yep thats the one
  2. I have a beautifully blued S&W revolver that has a lot of powder residue on the cylinder and barrel and I want to use the product that requires the least amount of rubbing as to not wear the finish.
  3. For polishing my stainless guns I use two products. Scotch Brite hand pads, extra fine and ultra fine depending on how much they need cleaned or polished. When Im done with the scotch brite I use a product called MAAS Metal Polishing Cream. The Ultra Fine followed by the MAAS are great for guns with a mirror finish. The metal polish is great for getting a mirror surface on any metal with ease provide its a smooth surface to start with. Once you try this stuff youll be looking for things to polish
  4. I havent changed my cleaning chemical choices in twenty years. Is there anything that removes the powder residue without much rubbing?
  5. Here's a few pictures with the new camera
  6. Nice pictures. I found the Indians to be quite interesting.
  7. really cool. Didnt these guys make a cool pocket 45 about 15 years ago?
  8. BTW these picture were all taken in program mode which means if I change a setting the camera adjusts everything else to compensate. Off to try Aperture priority next.....
  9. and another
  10. and another
  11. btw the tint of the background in the second picture is real. Its the wood from the table under my white fabric
  12. Here's two of the first pictures I took today with proper white balance. Both pictures are cropped in photoshop. One picture is the .jpg direct from the camera and the other is a raw converted to jpg. I think this camera is going to reduce my photoshop time a lot :thumb:
  13. Theres a software update available that patches a big security vulnerability. Unfortunately our theme and add-ons wont be compatible until the authors catch up. Im going to test the patch on low traffic sites first.
  14. Sure the deals show up after I blow my cash
  15. Well the camera arrived and has given me a bit of mixed feelings. First off if you handled this camera and the Nikon D90 side by side in a store you would never buy this camera over the Nikon. The Nikon kills it with construction and quality of the controls and buttons. The has the fel and build of a low end pro camera. Someone wrote that the 60D is a high end Canon Rebel. I agree with that. However out of the box with a $99 50mm f/1.8 Canon lens my first results are stunning. A really neat feature and obviously aimed at consumers is a setting called "Creative Auto". It's basically auto with a slider to control the blur (depth of field) behind the subject. Of course DOF also depends on the lens. Im going to spend this rainy day messing with it and deciding if it's a keeper or not.
  16. looks good man :thumb:
  17. need to convert it to a belt fed ;D

  20. I have found live view helpful when I cant get my head near the viewfinder which seems like most of what I do. Im surprised someone hasnt developed a removable back so you can have all the controls and screen tethered off camera.
  21. Theres a bunch of Nikon rebates going on this month. Maybe that will help you. There is also a rumor of a mirrorless DSLR from Nikon getting unveiled in 2011.
  22. Canceled the order for the D7000. Three reasons, first I was tired of waiting. Amazon actually took $25 off the order because this release has been a fiasco. Reason two, I see enough reports with hot pixels and dead pixels. i could live with that in video mode or on the LCD but when they show up in images that means there's a sensor issue. Lastly while I saw some great images and rumors of impressive focusing the actual image results from normal folks seemed unimpressive. So after a lot of thinking I jumped ship to a Canon 60D. On paper its marginally better than the D90 and it gets creamed by the D7000. However the images I saw favored the Canon in the way I use a Camera. As a side note Canon dropped the price of the 60D ($300) to the point where I got the camera body, Lens and a few other things for the price of the Nikon D7000 body.
  23. I havent heard anything other than anticipated trouble with FNH
  24. Im sure. I cant believe how inexpensive they are.
  25. I just bought three S&W knives myself
