There were many reports of this with early M&P 15-22's. I recall there was specific ammo not to use in these weapons a well as suggested ammo. edit : I have attached the manual. Look at pages 9 and 10 and see if it applies. Note: the images look funny because I compressed the file for uploading 4659_34c23faee30cee5131054d2d1d1f2b060a85e8b1.pdf
I never seen anything but Il bet a bit of pvc pipe and a threaded cap on one end might be sufficient. FWIW mine was kept in a magazine pocket in my rifle case for nearly 20 years without protection or damage
Crazy weather yet again. We had no snow after Octobers blizzard. That meant know run off. Then all spring up until a few weeks ago we had constant mini monsoons where inches of water fall in a very brief time. Unfortunately that water cant penetrate the ground. We are at a water deficit the likes of which I have not seen so early in the summer.
This was my first attempt at Hummingbirds. It was on a whim during lunch yesterday. These buggers are a little difficult. A zoom lens would have been better but I dont have one for the D800. I ended up using a fixed 50mm lens, ISO 100, f3.5, 1/60's. I used a Nikon SB 800 flash on manual at a very low setting. Im going to try again this week tweaking my settings a bit.
