  1. price per pound a rifle is better value. Seriously, though i think everyone should buy the gun of their dreams at least once, just to see how it feels. for me i suspect it will be an Ed Brown
  2. S&W does a good job and gives good value for the money . When you start to spend the big bucks you are paying for refinement and minute details that mostly affect appearance and ergonomics rather than performance down range. Last year I got to photograph 1911's that were truly custom, years waiting for delivery. The least expensive model was over $5k. Most were built by Ted Yost. The owner typically shot them once or twice to verify function and accuracy. For me it's a balance. If they are too nice and pretty they will become show pieces rather than shooters. My ancient S&W 745 with a Bar-Sto barrel holds it's own with my heavily modified Colt Gold Cup. Those guys you mention do make nice stuff for sure. I almost chose a Wilson over Kimber last fall. Folks like Les Baer and Briley make good stuff too

  4. well......I think I have issues
  5. A trip to the gun shop Tuesday almost yielded a model 87. It was $800. I would rather find a used 89 I think
  6. coke and pepsi my friend.
  7. I was pawing over a Socom 16 last night. I was close to picking it up.
  8. $497 , we paid $375 through the group buy. Im not sure where it's going to stay mounted. i loaned out a few optics so right now its on my FS2000. I havent actually shot this combo yet

  10. If the link was from the "E" site I have banned their links for a very hyprocritical anti gun position they took with me. The software here automatically breaks the links.....sorry
  11. http://www.cmmginc.com/
  12. While I prefer the look of the standard 226 this one feels better in the hand
  13. I zoomed in it's actually a Leapers/UTG. I am not familiar with that scope. I tend to lean towards the NCStars in that price range and maybe slightly higher
  14. I like both as well. For me nothing prettier than a 1911 or a revolver with exotic wood grips.
  15. Here's my new Sig Sauer P226 Enhanced Elite. I should have cleaned it up a little before taking the picture
  16. Heres the first picture of my Glock 22 Gen 4 BTW its a pretty big picture if you open it.
  17. Welcome :thumb:
  18. I wonder if the action is original or similar to a 10/22 or something.
  19. Part of that i feel comes from video games. The younger generation despises wood on a firearm.
  20. a little more
  21. oh crap theres an A-TACS compliant model...
  22. There were birds of prey there. One was a massive owl. The keeper said it's primary meal is opossums. The feet were as big as my hand. Awesome creature. Ill post pictures when I get them.
