  1. A US Air Force C-130 was scheduled to leave Thule Air Base,Greenland, at midnight. During the pilot's preflight check, he discovers that the latrine holding tank is still full from the last flight. So a message is sent to the base and an airman who was off duty is called out to take care of it. The young man finally gets to the air base and makes his way to the aircraft only to find that the latrine pumptruck has been left outdoors and is frozen solid, so he must find another one in the hangar, which takes even more time. He returns to the aircraft and is less than enthusiastic about what he has to do. Nevertheless, he goes about the pumping job deliberately and carefully (and slowly) so as not to risk criticism later. As he's leaving the plane, the pilot stops him and says, 'Son, your attitude and performance has caused this flight to be late and I'm going to personally see to it that you are not just reprimanded but punished.' Shivering in the cold, his task finished, he takes a deep breath, stands tall and says, 'Sir, with all due respect, I'm not your son; I'm an Airman in the United States Air Force. I've been in Thule, Greenland, for 11 months without any leave, and reindeer are beginning to look pretty good to me, I have one stripe; it's 2:30 in the morning, the temperature is 40 degrees below zero, and my job here is to pump s--t out of an aircraft. Now, just exactly what form of punishment did you have in mind?'
  2. I had a chance to buy a surplus, never fired Underwood back in the mid 70s for $125, the gun shop got 10 them in 3 days before military payday and he wouldn't hold one for me, owner didn't like G.I.s (I think his wife ran off with one). So 3 days later I'm at the door when he unlocks and they're all sold. He never got anymore after that until after I was married with a kid on the way and no gun money
  3. What type and how many M1 Carbines do you have? A rifle I've always liked but never owned.
  4. I thought I saw a kit to make the 10/22 look like an M14.
  5. I've got some more of these, I need to change their format and I'll post them tomorrow.
  6. This happened to my son a few years back. All to often they get your number through a secondary source. We never use a debit card on line. I use a credit card then make a on-line payment to the credit card company right away. At least with the credit card their are limits to what you'd lose.
  7. The 10/22 will be my fun guns, as far as I know there is no competition with .22 in this area. Which is a shame because when I go to my gun club you very often see people with both .22 rifles and pistols. Right now I only have a bolt action Marlin 925R rifle I love shooting it, I can block out the world and just lose myself in the routine of operating the bolt, aiming, and firing slowly and methodically. I find it very relaxing However, there are times I want to be able to just pull the trigger quickly and repeatly to destroy a gnome or keep a spinner going.
  8. Dangermouse I like the evil twist of your mind >:D It would be a blast to uncover one at the last minute in a competition, it might give you an edge. I always had a thing for the Thompson since I was a kid and saw pictures of my great-uncle holding his in Italy during WWII.
  9. Now that would be sweet, I wonder what the 325 has morphed into these days.
  10. Is that an ATI?
  11. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a stainless model for Christmas! Then the fun will begin.
  12. Rodent you been drink and song writing on bar napkins again?
  13. BTW only left the house today to pick up breakfast "Blake's Lota-Burger Breakfast Burritos" a burrito so big you skip lunch.
  14. In this family it is the wife surfing in the car, I drive cause she scares the crap out of me when she's behind the wheel.
  15. We went to long at my sons new home and then went to lunch with hime and his bride to be and a nice place Italian deli by the university.
  16. Not the punch line I expected.
  17. I went and looked up the Super90M3, did not know there where pump/semi-auto selectable shotguns. From what I read it is a very nice shotgun but out of my price range and priority list. The CD is a nice gun except you can do very little with it after you buy it. The pistol grip stock was the only accessory CD offer for it and even though the barrel is changable I the time I've had it they've never had 26 or 28 inch barrels. I hope to replace it later next year with the old tried and true 870.
  18. and if you say Pelosi forcefully is better than BS and attracts more attention.

  22. Well I see I'm not doing my part in the American way and keeping up with the Jones. Alas it will have to wait till after Christmas and they'll have to compete with 10/22 acessories I hope.
