  1. Wow, the website award sure has help membership, and very interesting members they are.
  2. Glad you joined us tell all your mates.
  3. I made the discovery of a depressing sign of old age today while Christmas shopping. I went to a t-shirt shop to order a t-shirt for a friend son and realized I didn't understand half of the t-shirts. >:(
  4. Very interesting and we're glad you followed the link.
  5. You may have something there if you can produce and sell them for a profit. You might want to start the patent.
  6. I don't know how many beer drinkers are in the group, but over the Thanksgiving weekend I tried two of the Samuel Adams Imperial Series. The first was there Double Bock, very drinkable with a alcohol content of 9.5%. The other was the Imperial White with a deadly alcohol content of 10.3, it was a bit to sweet foer my taste. The last of the series I didn't buy was the Imperial Stout, I may have to try this on even if I don't generally care for stouts. American brewers are catching up finally, normally for holidays I drinks Chimay, Maredsous, or Duvall all of which are Belgian Trappist Monk beers.
  7. My step-daughter wants an archery set for Christmas and I haven't shot a bow since my early 20s and it was a recurve. So question is do any of you shoot bows? I've been looking at Gensis compound bow sets from Cabelas, one of the youth/young adult with adjustable draw. She is 19 5'6" so she doesn't need a kid's bow, but I'm not going to spend 400 or 500 dollars on one since she is the definition of a fickled teenager.
  8. I always watch Midway for sales on Chip McCormick 1911 mags. I think I still have 3 of the original Act-Mags that came with the RIA and the Citadel I want to place, I keep those for snap caps and reloading drills.
  9. I have a pair I wear at IDPA matches because I can hear commands otherwise. If I'm out by myself I wear ear plugs when shooting .22 and muffs and plugs for all else. I did enough damage to my hearing during the 21 years I was around jet engines. So I'm very careful. Has anyone every used the NRA's hearing program, I'm really thinking of checking it out and it is free!!!!
  10. I agree with cyclone, I have 3 for each of my handguns, and just because I haven't bought any more 3 for my Marlin, but may pick up more at the next gun show.
  11. I asked Santa for a Stainless Steel 10-22, I think she ...er ;D I mean he was receptive :thumb:
  12. Just a quick Happy Thanksgiving for everyone! I believe Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays because it does make you reflect on what you're thankful about.
  13. Very nice Madhouse
  14. That sounds like fun, are the birds migrating at this time?
  15. We'll be having Thanksgiving at home, with my son, his fiancée and her friend will coming over. Not sure about the rest of the weekend, the doctor told my wife to stop using her crutches today so maybe we'll be able to go do something.
  16. I think any magazine Brownells sold would be okay, which include Pro Mag and Mec Gar, I used a borrowed Pro Mag once with no problems.
  17. That is pretty wild that the conversion kit cost so much more than the pistol.
  18. The original ones supplied to the Air force had 14 inch barrels so were never legal to own, I wonder what happened to them all, they were in the seat packs onthe B-52 but doubt they are now.
  19. I hadn't heard of this group either but it looks good. Appears to be no middleman so what you send is what they get. As an old retired military guy who has spent to much time in the desert I'll say this send non-perishable foods. Small packages of nuts, beef jerky, ramen, 100 calorie snack packs, powdered drink mixes, dried fruit. The key thing being packages small enough to be mobile.
  20. Has anyone ever had a chance to fire a Springfield M-6 Scout, which is based on the Survival Rifle the US Air Force had for pilots in bombers. The Scout came in .22lr, .22mag, and .22Hornet, the second barrel on each is 410 shotgun, both single shot. It isn't made by the reborn Springfield Arms shame I think it would be fun and practical for camping and hiking.
  21. Nice set up cyclone
  22. I think I'd like to talk to the owner/manager and find their reasoning, or if the employee got caught not knowing what the MP-15 was but when he found out wasn't going to admit he was wrong.
  23. I'm assuming 12ga, how many rounds? My CD holds 5+1 and kicks like a mule also because it is very light. My wife wants me to teach her to use it, figured I get 2-3/4 shells with bird shot so she doesn't beat me with the gun afterwards.
  24. >:D
