I'm mostly ambidextrous also, but usually shoot left for the most part but always practice a magazine or two right handed in both pistol and rifle. Play throwing sports right handed, bat right handed, but play paddle and racket sports left handed. I know I'm confused
Well I got my stock from Boyd's today only problem it's for a right-handed person :-[ . The info on the web site didn't say and like a dummy I assumed it was ambidextrious. You think after being a lefty for 54 years I'd know to ask! I'll call them Monday and find out if they make a leftie version and they'll exchange it or if they don't make the leftie will they'll let me return it. If that fails I guess I can either try and sell it myself or shoot it right-handed which I can do, but am not sure it would improve my shooting overall.
I haven't hunted since I was in my 20s, then in New Mexico rabbits were in season year round and you didn't even need a hunting license. I now you have to have a license but I don't seen a seaon for rabbit. Jacks are usually very tough and stringy though.
Spent about 2 hours at the range and had fun. I decided to do something I hadn't done since before I retired from the Air Force, so I shot both rifles offhand standing. Talk about muscle memory lose, I think I'm going to need to do it more often. Still having trouble with one of my Butler Creek Hot Lip Magazines, I'm going to try cleaning it again and see what happens. BTW way the Jack Rabbits are huge this year, I most have had 6 run across the road on the way to the range, 10 miles of my trip is over dirt roads.
That sounds like a plan, although I've never fired one of the .17hmr, it should give you more power without excess recoil. Plus I like bolt action rifles.
So tomorrow morning I'm taking the 10/22 and the Marlin 925R to the range. I think I'll go first thing in the morning as it is suppose to be mid to upper 90s again.
Been in for about a month or more, breaks very crisply, at a much much lighter pull than the original, installation was simple enough for me and I don't have a gunsmithing background, you will need a third hand though. I recommend it highly.
I have a Boyd's stock that is suppose to be here Friday. I knew it would take awhile when I ordered it because it had to be made, the one time I inquired by e-mail as to when it would be done I had an answer in less than 2 hours.
