Great! You will like it, I think. Before you take it to the range, there is a small hole on the right side of the slide, behind the extractor. Put a drop of gun oil in there and rack the slide several times. Also, here is a LINK to everything you ever wanted to know about really taking it apart. Enjoy! TM

Greetings VooDoo, & Welcome to the club. What kind of shooting are you doing?
-
Has anyone tried it yet?
-
Well, it didn't stain as dark as I wanted, but still turned out acceptable. Shoots real good from a rest, I think the front sight post is too wide for me, I tend to get a horizontal string of holes across the bull. It's a keeper. :thumb:

Excellent- sounds like a fun day.

It is in great shape and shoots great. The finish is..... old. No rust or pitting, trying to decide if I want to dura-coat it or send it our for bluing. Precision Bluing Have been spending way too much time locating extra mags for it, finally found TripleK holsters & mags in San Diego. Ordered two mags, and they fit and function, but they are 1 9mm round too long. So I sent them pictures, and they said keep those, we will make you two new ones. They arrived yesterday, but they don't latch in the pistol - the notch is slightly off. But the gun is accurate, and low felt recoil due to the massive weight of an all steel gun. :thumb:

The takedown is slightly different than a 1911, there is the slide release lever, of course, which appears to be standard Colt design, (need an extended one), an extra pin and a small flat head screw. Slide appears to be aluminum alloy, cleans up nice & quick. :thumb:

I had a PF9 that malf'd, I had to pay $55 to UPS for overnight shipping back to KelTec. And, it has to go to a UPS hub, the UPS Stores cannot accept firearms, so I also had to drive 40 miles round trip. I do not own any KelTecs now. Good Luck!

That is too bad. Should have put it up for sale here. I might/maybe/coulda/use another one.

Looking to buy tactcal 22 rifle.Which one is best?

I have the Colt M4 OPS, and have had it for 2 years. Very happy with it, and would not want to part with it. I understand the newer rifles have significant improvements, the Sig has great reviews, while the M&P is very easy to clean. (the Colt isn't) I have found the Colt to be very accurate for my needs. Regards, TM -
Anyone use one for gun cleaning? I have a small one I use, with simple green as a solvent. Read some where not to use them if your gun has tritium sights... Can anyone confirm that? Thanks, TM

Yeah, well, that's kinda their job. Remember, presumption of innocence.

I believe so.

Was looking at the brochure that came with the GSG 1911, and it has a picture of a .22lr Schmeisser..... That would be good! Nothing on their website about it.

Sat in chair #5 all day, then dismissed by the defense at 4:30 pm. Trial is two Hispanic guys that (allegedly) were on a bit of a crime spree last year. 7 count indictment. Was a gang of 6 or so, but only two defendants left, apparently the rest have plead to lesser crimes and plan to testify on their former buds. The judge asked if anyone knew anything about firearms, so I think that the defense did not want a NRA instructor in the jury.

Hi Noximus, I have the M4 OPS, and I removed the front sight - it is pinned to the barrel shroud, and after removal leaves some ugly holes behind. On mine,I filled the holes with an epoxy type material, and then sanded and Dura-coated the shroud. Welcome to the forum, TM

Just called in, gotta be there at 0830. They are calling in a huge jury pool - groups #2 thru 243! So I need advice, do I wear a pro gun shirt and hat? >:D

From Slide Stock's web site: "No, the SSAR-15 is only compatible with the rifles that use a standard AR-15 lower."

Went to the 1st gun show of the season, wasn't really looking for any guns, then I saw the GSG 1911s. Then I held one. Then I bought one. Took it home for an initial cleaning, then straight to the range. 300 rounds of 4 brands, zero problems. Shot perfect out of the box, no sight adjustment required. Excellent trigger, the grip safety is a bit stiff, but that will self correct with use. $350 out the door + $30 for an extra mag.
