That is one way - loosen the nut with an AR armorer's tool, and replace the tube lock with an after market one with sling attachment points. I have an a new tube lock to do exactly that, but have not gotten around to it, so I cannot confirm that an AR tube lock will fit the Colt. Remember that the Colt does not contain a buffer, spring, ect. You can also purchase attachment points that clamp on to your accessory rails, and many butt stocks, including the Colt's, come with slots or attachment points. TM

Are you talking .22lr or non-magnum pistol calibers? If yes, you can make a backstop from 4x4's. That is what I use as a safety backstop when chambering rounds in my carry guns. I used 4 pieces 18" long, glued & clamped, then ran a piece of threaded rod thru both ends to hold it together.

MG - Sorry for the loss. Happy for the new addition, great looking pup. I can send you the address of a saddle maker when she gets a bit bigger.

Broomhandle attached?? Uh yeah. Ya'll let me know how that works out for ya! :o

This was a good shoot, the shooter is a member of Ohioans for Concealed Carry. It is a long read, but well worth it for the insight into the life of a scumbag, and the way good folk gather round our own. Also note the scumbag took two .45 acp rounds to the belly and lived..... I wonder what a .22 would have done? Did I mention stupidity? Let's commit a crime, and then brag about it on facebook. HERE

When I lived in Sacramento, summer was routinely triple digit. I put up a mister in the back yard - that thing worked great. But of course, they only work in a dry heat. ;D

But it's a dry heat?

Looks like a party at DDB's place. With regards to I don't know the answer to that, but I do know that ammunition manufacturers must adhere to SAMII standards. That is what really limits ammo, and the ever present threat of litigation. As an example, say some ammo company came up with a revolutionary primer material and powder combination that insured 100% ignition, increased velocity 40% and burned clean with no residue. It works great in modern firearms chambered in .22lr. So what happens when someone tries that ammo in a 90 year old rifle chambered in .22lr? It blows up, someone loses an eye,and the ammo company gets sued into oblivion. Just my 2 pfennigs.. ;D

Cool, Thanks! I wonder if my gunsmith discount will work on it.....

My Sweetie wanted a scanner a few years back, so we have a Uniden BCT8, and it seems to have lost it's programming. Naturally, it ended up on my work bench. I know absolutely nothing about scanners. I have tried to read the manual, and lost consciousness both times. I noted it had a serial port, and said "ah ha" - I can hook it up to a PC. Yes I can, and after one spends $40 or so on software, it seems that you still have to know more about scanner programming than I seem capable of. Trunking, private bank scanning, service scanning, data skip, freq skip, geesh - what happened to the old turn-it-on-adjust-the squelch-scanners?? And then you seem to have to know what to program for in your area. Anyone have any suggestions that do not include scanner destruction? Thanks! TM

Thanks for the heads up - I also detest that racist group. :thumb:

Read about it HERE. Some quotes from participants: "This is just a way of drawing attention to the need to be more green and replace fossil fuels with natural power," said Ken Johnson, who was completely nude and body-painted grey. "I am going all the way" nude, said Xandi Silvaggi, adding, "it is all about saving the environment." "It is the most liberating, natural feeling possible," said Brooklyn Jay, who came all the way from Phoenix for the ride. So, how exactly is it "green" to travel from AZ to OR to ride a bike naked??? PS - To Tac.22 members from California - please take no offense from the subject line - no offense intended to anyone that does not ride bikes naked. I lived in Cali for 30 years, and am well acquainted with the enviro-hippie-tree-hugger-whale-kissing wack jobs that are helping to sink the great state of California.

My tackle box is not quite big enough for that...... ;D A wonderful day it was. Cut short at 14:30 by wind & rain, but caught a good size cat, some perch and a few big sheephead. (High fun value garbage fish) An excellent outing! The may-flies are in mid hatch. If you are not familiar with them, check the pics http://www.mayflynews.net/weekly_photo.html. Scroll down for some good pics!

Hey Ski- Great news!- thanks for sharing. :thumb:

Everybody shoots .22, but few know much about the cartridge. Most likely since it can't be reloaded.
-
With the Colt, one can adjust the recoil spring.....

Excellent - I am interested in one also, please tell us how it goes.

The gritty feeling after 100 rounds or so is caused by the glass that is mixed with the primer material to act as an anvil. As for being so dirty, not all of the powder in any given .22 cartridge is burned. For a good in-depth article on .22 cartridges, go HERE. TM

Done - thanks.
