Looks like a nice unit, quite durable. :thumb:

One thing we all handle maybe even more than the guns are the cases, both hard-sided or soft. How about an area with the optics and furniture Drew? Anyway I have a '94 AE Winchester in .45 Colt that I carry in a soft-sided zipper case, black ballistic nylon. I purchased an 8 1/2 '' wide Winchester logo patch on E-Bay for it. Should be here in a couple of days. Old-timey enough to fit with the '94...

I think you have to splint your shooting arm with a 2X4 PRIOR to firing that bad boy....Just kidding! A REALLY NICE arm!!! :thumb:

TM did you ever get your trigger group back?

Well, I've put several thousand rounds thru the Colt/Umarex OPS. While being smooth as silk and very reliable I did realize while shooting my last brick of Federal bulkpak that the bolt was getting a little stiff and the charging handle felt ''gritty'' even after spraying out the action. Just for giggles I set up my cleaning table in front of my command center (recliner)and disassembled the rifle. On the upper (hidden) portion of the bolt the surface had built up a layer of hard residue. The guide rails for the bolt inside the carrier had done the same and the end of the charging handle also. This stuff progressively thickens and takes up all the clearance inside the arm. A good bath of Hoppes #9 and a small brass brush soon had this crap scrubbed off. Thanks to TechMike for his excellent Powerpoint presentation. If you've got over a couple of thousand rounds thru your rifle I would recommend a teardown. The only thing to watch for is the bolt hold- open tension spring that WILL pop out when sliding the bolt carrier and barrel back out of the receiver.

hiya ecan- even though the .22 rifle is not as harshly treated as its big brothers in California, most of the ''evil features'' items are probably still highly regulated. Check around locally for the info you need. Most independent retailers on the net have quit selling any sort of grey-area accessories in California, based on what I've read on numerous forums...If Umarex USA won't ship the fake can to you then it is not legal or the ''hassle factor'' is too much for them...

Imao 37 it sounds like you have made the offer to repair, even though you are not at fault. This guys behavior is that of a child who seeks to shift the blame for his own actions onto your shoulders. This can put you into a real touchy situation as far as family functions, but keep your bride aware of your efforts to pacify this guy. You will find that he has done this sort of thing to others in the family, and the people in the family that matter won't hold this fool's behavior against you. Look them all in the eye if the subject comes up and say '' I've done my best to resolve this situation, he won't hear of it, so I'm done with it''. I would then drop it. He needs a good old-fashioned punch in the nose, but he would probably love to get you in a situation where he could take legal action. All families have JERKS in them, and learning to steer clear of them is part of family interaction. Good Luck and be patient....P.S. this firearm sounds like it has been overpressured with bad reloads, he will kill himself eventually shooting like this....The lugs on the bolt are blasted.

I pulled a 15 month unaccompanied tour in the Phillipines and Thailand 71-72. I was married for 3 weeks when I shipped over. After I got home in '72, for our first Christmas together the wife got me a Winchester Model 270 pump .22. I still have it and I must say she's STILL giving me guns for Bdays and Christmas..... it's the bottom rifle in this picture. Wow, I've had it 38 years....

Oh man! I'm getting the SHAKES again. -
Yeah I have the OPS- really like it. An EXCELLENT arm, if broken in and the correct ammo is used.

you're suffering from ARB, it will pass. ARB= AGE RELATED BOREDOM. Any activity or interest you've engaged in becomes ho-hum. One day you'll get up and it will be gone.... :bang:

Hell I can't complain, after 39 years I'm still gettin' GUNS!!!!

Wow, nice blend-in with the surroundings!

Well I got my 15-22 pistol today, the darned thing looks GOOD, polymer and all. The upper and lower recievers are clean, sharply moulded and all controls are CRISP. The CEO has taken title until my Bday next month, so a full report will have to wait....
