  1. I'm not sure whether the triangle is transparent enough to see through or not Dangermouse? I'll have to look around locally and see who has one in stock and take a peek. I know that POI is supposed to be zeroed at the top/tip of the triangle. Since this isn't a "combat" weapon, I wouldn't have an issue of not seeing through the triangle but it would not be my choice of optics on any of my fighting rifles. I prefer the red horseshoe dot reticle available on some of the ACOG sights for a CQB rifle. http://www.trijicon.com/user/parts/products1.cfm?PartID=654&back_row=4&categoryID=3
  2. Welcome Ollie ... it's good to have both you chaps join us.
  3. Welcome to the forum Dangermouse ... always good to have a shooter from the other side of the "pond" join in on the discussion.
  4. Love the reticle design on that glass! I need one of those on my CQB AR build! :thumb: I've only seen pictures; never FTF with that particular model Reflex. You?
  5. Here's the optic I'd really like to see on my GSG but it's hard to justify the money. This reflex would look too cool on the SD! http://www.opticsplanet.net/trijicon-rx0617-reflex-125-moa-amber-dot-sight-hk-mount.html
  6. I'm steering towards a Burris Fastfire ... but am still pretty undecided. There are so many options out there.
  7. I'm sure we'd love to see a pic of the look on his face when he opens that gift ... good job Jim! Thank your boy from all of us for his service to our country! :thumb:
  8. So I finally got to shoot my new SD yesterday. 250 flawless rounds of Federal Value Pack intermixed with 50 rounds of CCI Mini Mag ... not one issue(besides some Federal rounds with less than favorable report; but can't complain at $20 for 525 rounds?). I am very impressed and happy with my new GSG-5 SD ... just need optics for my old tired eyes! ;D
  9. Really liking that urban camo job spectre30! Makes me want to build a 10/22! ;D
  10. Everyone needs a tactical scatter-gun ... my Benelli Super 90M3. Best gauge I've ever owned but kicks like a damn mule with 3" 00BS! :o

I feel your pain brother ... sorry for the Priceline ad in the beginning; unavoidable.http://www.weather.com/multimedia/videoplayer.html?clip=365&from=hp_video_1
  12. Welcome to all the new T22.net members  Very nice work with the DuraCoat spectre30 ... I see my FN FS2000 in that Rhodesian pattern and I'm liking it!
  13. I have to say I am a little disappointed with the rrages.com screw upgrade kit. I think George Shepard needs to look at all the improvements on the new SD's and put together a specific kit for that particular rifle. The 3 most important screws to replace are the bolt jacket screws and the ones provided in my kit are WAY shorter than the existing screws in my bolt assembly. Also, in the online instructions, he states that the OEM screws are phillips head screws; mine are T10 torx screws on my new SD and were a real b#t@h to remove. I highly doubt they would've loosened and failed due to shooting the rifle. I am going to contact him on Monday and let him know the situation, just so he knows. On a happier note, the charging handle buffer and HK pin set were well thought out and relatively easy to install. :thumb:
  14. +1 ... can't thank all you veterans enough for your service to our country. :thumb:
  15. Copied this info off of arfcom from this link ... some good instructions with pictures if you are considering this mod and want to pick up the hardware on your own instead of getting a kit put together from rrages.com. Hope this info helps out. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=41&t=244302 Summary of what to get when shopping at the hardware store: (12) - m3 hex nuts (11) - m3 hex head, .50 thread pitch, 12mm long (1) - m3 hex head, .50 thread pitch, 16mm long (2) - m2.5 hex nuts (2) - m2.5 heax head, .45 thread pitch, 12mm long Location: (4) m3 12mm, with nuts, for the trigger assembly (3) m3 12mm, with nuts, for the bolt assembly (4) m3 12mm, with nuts for the main reciever (1) m3 16mm, with nut - this is the barrel screw (you need this one 16mm to be long enough for the nut to attach (2) m2.5 12mm, with m2.5 nuts for the bolt assemby (these are the slightly smaller screw on the bolt assembly, they have a star hex that is a pain to get out, definately worth it to replace these as they strip easily.
  16. Kudos man ... international recognition of your baby is WAY cool! :thumb:
  17. Truer words have never been stated ... a whole new generation of disrespectful, ill-mannered people are being raised/bred by the current parents that have no values. Makes me sad and angry at the same time. Good on you for not losing it asmurff ... admirable to not waste your time taking out the "trash"!
  18. LMAO ... but that guy buys 2 SCARs! Too rich for my blood brother!
  19. Just stepped up to the plate and bought 2 of these all black SD's! I figured I'd better get them NIB whilst I could, before the "these are no longer available" gouging begins. Decent price for the rifles and $25 22rd mags(bought 4 of these as well ). Let the modding begin! Thanks for everyones input.
  20. Interesting set-up mcnugget ... curious why the rear MBUS is sandwiched in between magnifier and HWS? Too much eye relief with it behind the magnifier?
  21. Nice carry pistol asmurff! :thumb: I carry a Ruger LCP w/CT when all my other carry pistols are just too cumbersome.
  22. Been missing GW for what seems an eternity ... only 9 months in reality.
  23. Looking for a stock in good shape for my Charter Arms AR-7 Explorer rifle ... the black one that floats. ;D If you have one, know of one available or see one when you're out and about, let me know. Thanks. xrs159 at gmail dot com

    Kimber fans?
