  1. Im thinking you could build that out of a wood stocked ruger 10/22 with VERY little work.
  2. Im more preferential to the "no concealed carry = no bucks" card.
  3. No doubt there are some similarities in appearance. But, just because it looks like a ISSC MK2, doesnt mean it is. A Springfield Armory 1911 may look like a Les Baer, but they are two TOTALLY different guns. The ISSC MK2 uses a sleeved barrel...the Anschutz does not. Im sure there are some other differences internally too. And....ESC GmbH makes guns for both Anschutz and ISSC....which would explain why they would use a cross platform model. ESC GmbH engineered and produced the ISSC MK2...it would serve to say that the Anschutz company would refine a design they already had to make it better for their brand name.
  4. They might be based off the ISSC MK2, but I highly doubt they ARE the ISSC MK2. Anschutz would never whore their name out....ever.
  5. Im thinking Im going to have to pick one of these up when they come out....regardless of cost. This is not going to be pretty.... Its about time we got a match-grade tactical .22
  6. At least thats the plan...or maybe.... Sig Sauer 1911 .45 Springfield Armory Ultralight two-tone 1911 .45 Springfield Armory TRP 1911 .45 or I might just go cheap and pick up a decent Phillipeans 1911. Havent decided yet, but definitely gonna go get one at the end of the month, so technically its on order.
  7. I hear flight of the valkyries everytime I go to the range... da da da DAA dAaa...da da da DAAAAAA daaa... da da da DaAAAAA DA da da da dA
  8. Whew that thing is gonna cost BUCKS! But Im still tempted...
  9. I took all of the Nikon Classes. By far a great investment if you are into photography. While you are there, grab all the DVD's so you have reference later, its worth the cost. Since then, Ive learned a few new tricks too. Just be forewarned....after getting done, you will probably be hunting ebay for a 3DX...LOL Here are some photos from my Nikon.
  10. Im with you. I've finally got my Sig 522 dialed in, and finally got the ballistics chart made up so I can dial the scope in for whatever range Im shooting at. Thing is printing every shot in the 10 ring now, so I can go shoot all day for $20 bucks. I get done, and my shoulder isnt sore from 500 rds of .223, or .308....and all the guns shoot the same ammo. Im having an absolute blast with my Sig 522 and Mosquito. Its just awesome.
  11. Good news.... The city council announced today that they are dropping this gun ban issue because of "OVERWHELMING" public opposition. The State Attorney General apparently got involved as well...to remind them that its a violation of state law. WE WIN!!!!
  12. I just got off the phone with the city council, and the secretary there said "there is nothing to this"...BULLCRAP. I read the thing. Im so %&*$%& off right now I could scream. The local gun range that I shoot at is in Macon. They will suffer dramatic loss in business if this thing passes. Not to mention, even though I dont live in Macon, when I shoot, I like to bring my Sig 522. Under their garbage proposed law, it would become a illegal firearm for the stock, the magazine, the muzzle brake, the forearm grip, the handle grip, the action, and the magazine well. They could confiscate my legal gun, and destroy it. %(*#&$&*(%&#*(@$^&*!@^$&^*#*&%^*&@)($#&* liberals. Supposedly, the president of the City Council is going to call me back PRIOR to the vote. I fully intend to let him know in no uncertain terms that he should BURN this proposed legislation, and if he doesnt, I will make it my life's mission to launch lawsuit after lawsuit against Bibb County for violating our State Constitution, and our State's Firearms Preemption Law which says.... O.C.G.A. § 16-11-173 Legislative findings; preemption of local regulation and lawsuits; exceptions (a)(1) It is declared by the General Assembly that the regulation of firearms is properly an issue of general, state-wide concern. (2) The General Assembly further declares that the lawful design, marketing, manufacture, and sale of firearms and ammunition to the public is not unreasonably dangerous activity and does not constitute a nuisance per se. (b)(1) No county or municipal corporation, by zoning or by ordinance, resolution, or other enactment, shall regulate in any manner gun shows; the possession, ownership, transport, carrying, transfer, sale, purchase, licensing, or registration of firearms or components of firearms; firearms dealers; or dealers in firearms components.
  13. Guys, I got a notice from the NRA. These idiots politicians in Macon are voting today on making the transport, ownership or sell of "assault rifles" in Bibb County illegal. And if you read what "assault rifle" entails in their language...it bans nearly 50% of the guns I own. They offer no compensation, they just turn it into a felony and confiscate, and then destroy your firearms. I urge you to QUICKLY call these representatives and absolutly demand that they vote NO to this entire thing. Bear in mind this doesnt just affect people that live in Macon....if you so much as drive through there with a "assault rifle" they will confiscate it and destroy it. representatives http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?id=7074&issue
  14. On my belt. And i have specially designed and built furniture that hides and protects. Im not big on safes unless well hidden. They are like magnets for thieves, and they will utterly destroy your house to get them open. There are companies out there that will build you custom furniture that there is no way you would ever expect armament to be inside them...even to the point where close inspection wont reveal their hidden secrets. Kinda like a puzzle box, but easy to get to if you know how.
  15. The best part is $15 bucks for 550 rounds instead of $15 bucks for 50 rounds. A trip to the gun range for me went from $135 to $20 bucks.
  16. Id also recommend having a gunsmith do it. Doing it yourself and getting it wrong, no matter how well intentioned can put in in SBR/NFA catagory, and you can get yourself in a lot of trouble.
  17. You cant buy beer with welfare/food stamps. So what do these mooching scammers do? The folks up north would buy bottled water...lots of it....take it out in the parking lot, pour it all out on the ground, and then walk back in and turn in the bottles for the recycle refund....then take that money and go buy beer. Our tax dollars at work. What a waste.
  18. OMG...I must have some of this. Its EXACTLY what Im looking for. Something heavy enough to knock steel plates...quiet in the suppressor, and clean. Sounds like just the ticket.
  19. I dont think its the Eley Primer. Im shooting the Eley Primer Colibri rounds, and they dont do it. I think most of that is the powder and lead dust being fed back into the chamber by that short cutdown case. I dont know, but they are a horribly dirty round. They do pack a punch though. Im wishing they had left the case alone, and just made the round boattail or something to keep the 60g. It would have made the ultimate steel plate round as it would have the punch to knock down some small plates.
  20. Yeah, and then in nearly the same breath he says he wants to open talks with the Muslim Brotherhood....a group that says they wont until we dump our relationship with Israel. What really gets me is when he gets on his podium and starts telling the American public that the "rich folks should pay their share of the burden" and then he appoints a fat cat money hungry rich guy from GE as the man responsible for heading up the White House Council on jobs and competitiveness. We all know this was a kickback for the fat cat's campaign contributions, and support of his energy plan....which by the way made fat cat fatter. Obama is a joke...a really lame one with a sorry punchline. Yeah...its like that.
  21. I bought a box of the 60g Aguila "sniper" rounds. Shot two out of the box in my Sig 522, and went back to my standard load. The 60g rounds are seated in a cut-down .22LR case... When you fire them, they smoke for 5 min. And they arent any more accurate than a standard round. I was not impressed. Now the Eley-Primer only Aguila rounds are FANTASTIC. They are so slow, you can actually watch the round go downrange through your optics in a nice bullet trajectory arc.. Not to mention, they are quieter than a suppressed .22 Just really fun cool rounds, for short range plinking.. I highly recommend them for sheer entertainment value alone. The last time I saw something like that through optics was shooting M1s at 1000yds. It was really cool seeing the little round arc, and then punch a hole in the paper.
  22. Yeah, we definitly need the link for these. Im kinda wanting one. Only problem is if I get one....its probably going to be my gateway drug for getting back into competitive shooting. Oh, and by the way....the rear diopter sight is worth the entire cost of the rifle, if its well made.
  23. Well, i know I wouldn't have told him to leave. I probably would have told him to stick around while we wait for the cops. That way you get him, and the guns off the street.
  24. That rifle was designed for biathlon shooting. Its an older design, the new biathlon rifles have pretty much done away with heavy wood stocks, and gone to lightweight aluminum frame stocks. And they've switched from bolt-action to straight pull fortner actions. No doubt it will be a tack-driver. I'd expect to see it capable of shooting same hole groups to 25m with no problems.
  25. The 522 is not as light as some of the other .22 tactical rifle offerings such as the M&P-22 (which barely weighs anything)....but, it is by far one of the most reliable, and finely tuned of the bunch.
