15-22 owners who have shot or own sigs 522
crashoverrideplik replied to Jrod77's topic in S&W M&P 15-22 General
I bought one tonight :thumb:. A guy had to get out of it quick because of $$ problems and i couldn't pass it up. -
Midway had them on sale for $16 recently.

More magazines.....

I bought one used recently. I put 550 rounds through it yesterday and 200 over lunch on Thursday. It's a nice gun. I've upgraded my grip to a Hogue, removed the mag safety and replaced the bump back with a smooth. Mine shoot best with the #3 sight on the front.

That's very nice!

Hello! Looking to get my first rifle.
crashoverrideplik replied to EvilBetty's topic in Introductions
I own one of the CMMG Quebec A models. I love it. It was worth the $$ for it. I also got a .223 upper and 9 mm when I bought mine. Now I can shoot anything with it. -
I ordered a Black Dog 50 round drum today

I want one but I'm afraid it's going to be really heavy on the gun when it's not on the tri-pod. -
CMMG - Ciener Compatible Magazines
crashoverrideplik replied to imschur's topic in AR-15,M16 .22LR Conversion Units
I have a whole stack of them in my gun case. I had issues where I'd get 20 rounds in it then the 21st round would cause spring bind and you could pour out the rounds out of the magazine. The issue I found with it was two fold. First, the magazine was bolted together to tight. I loosened the screws and tightened them evenly. Secondly, hand loading the mags is an exercise in patience. You have to make sure that the rounds are stacking properly. You can use a Cristie's loader and fix this. I came up with another method of loading 10 rounds, thumping it on the counter, load ten, thump it on the counter until the magazine is full. The thumping method keeps the rounds stacked right. It takes a few cycles of the magazines to get them to hold the full amount of rounds. You may also have to grind 2 little tabs on the back of the magazine down to have it fit properly in the magwell for your gun. All of mine had to be ground down to fit right. -

It looks heavy. Is it heavy when fully loaded and on the gun? -
S&W M&P 15-22 Barrel Shroud
crashoverrideplik replied to imschur's topic in S&W M&P 15-22 Mods and Upgrades
That's either Jody's (tacticool) or Belt Fed's of the S&W 15-22 forum. -
I'm a big fan of the Blackhawk serpa's. Especially the way it holds you gun by the trigger guard. I've been upside down (don't ask) and the gun never moved. And... it converts to a leg holster for tactical fun.

That's a re-stipple grip reduction done by Boresight Solutions. It helps fix the grip angle, thickness of the grip, etc. Glocks are known for their "brick" like feel and this helps make it easier to hold with small hands.

I read the new issue of Custom Combat Handguns and sent my Glock 21 slide off to have it milled to accept a Red-Dot. I'm thinking of going Leupold Delta Point ($$$) or maybe a Burris Fast Fire ($). While it's there it's getting a 45 degree mill on the corners and nose. If I get the right barrel (if it's in stock) it will get some sight windows and a compensator as well. I can't wait. Here's a picture of a Glock with similar mods:

Tastes good too!

Those people will never understand "little" things like duty, honor and code. It pisses me off to read crap like this. What happened to the days where people thanked the military personnel for serving their country?

The Ed Brown I shot was really nice, but $ for $ the Wilson Combat ($50 more) or NightHawk Custom ($100 more) has it beat. I want the NightHawk in a bad way. I even dreamed about owning it last night. Just worried that if I bought one it would be a trophy piece and not a girl I take to the dance every weekend.

I actually got a chance to shoot the custom jobs vs a Kimber Pro Carry that I own. Honestly... there is no comparison. I put 8 in one hole @ 10 yards With the NightHawk. I had 8 in the 10 ring with my Kimber using the same ammo. I noticed as the $ amount went up the smaller the groupings became. Now I can say I still don't know if my wallet can take it or maybe it's just a mental thing. I have no issue spending that kind of money on a rifle but pistols... it's just hard to justify. I'm gonna have to give it some serious thought.

That stuff is pretty cool. I got a similar kit for my Glock the other day. I can't wait to shoot cheap ammo out of it.

I ordered a new S&W 1911 E model with crimson trace handles. I've been eagerly awaiting it's delivery. Man is it beautiful.... until I found a stack of 1911's that a guy traded in earlier today in the next case. Now if you have not ever heard of these wallet threatening names NightHawk, Wilson Combat, Ed Brown and Dan Wesson then please don't look them up on the internet. I'm reconsidering my S&W purchase after seeing some of these guns. It also open s my world up to a whole new level of spending. I was a bit wallet shocked at a handgun that was in the $1200 range, now that I've seen guns in the $2K+ range I'm probably not going to be able to undo the pucker marks in my shorts. I just have to say you get what you pay for. Man is that stuff nice. Make that S&W look like a half assed, slapped together by 8 year old's,pile of crap. This is going to hurt....

KelTec PMR-30 pistol ad in American Rifleman
crashoverrideplik replied to rodent.22's topic in .22 Handguns - Other
I have several polymer guns. The feel of this is more "toy" like than gun. It's extremely light weight. It feels like if you did drop it, you'd be looking for pieces. The action is sloppy. It rattled when it was chambered. My Keltec PF9 rattles too but doesn't sound like this. Getting magazines for it is a pain and $$$. I haven't found anyone stocking them yet. It was on my list to buy as another gun that my wife (or friends) could shoot without issue mainly because of the round count. I've moved it down the list now until I can shoot one. -

I handled one today. It's very cheap feeling. I might get to shoot it this weekend but man it's a cheap feeling gun. I like the idea of 30 rounds :) -
I had one of those for a bit. I traded it off for a Glock 20.

I got some of that Tactical Bacon.... with my CMMG purchase ;D
