with all this being said, and i DO agree that the .22lr is NO JOKE and i also consider it as a good survival/shtf ammo which brand/type of .22lr would you guys/gals recommend to be the best for sd/hd purpose?

thanks ill look into that :thumb: edit: the mag was getting stuck on the opening of the upper receiver, it seems like the black coating they put on it caused the opening to tighten up and thats what was holding the mag in even after depressing the mag release, after a bit of sanding down i finally got the mags to drop free but, since there is a bolt hold open feature, the mag still gets caught on the bolt when empty and in return still does not drop free :( but its still makes for a much easier mag change overall im quite happy now

the ones they sell at walmart? yea probably 1 box, had like less than 10 duds but i shot em out of my ruger 10/22 which really isnt picky on ammo from my experience so ymmv...but im sticking with CCI stuff from now one, cleaner and more reliable overall

my 522 is pretty recent as i have the model with the "heavy" barrel included when i remove the upper from the lower then insert the mag, when i release it, the mag drops freely then when i install the upper and do the same thing it doesnt drop free...thats why i thought it had to be the gun/upper receiver and NOT the magazine... from inspecting an insertes (unloaded) magazine thru the lower receiver with the upper removed, i dont see it snag on anything...but its hard to see where the magazine is getting caught up when the upper is installed geezz, i want drop free mags...please help

525 rounds of CCI blazers for $15.99 Blazers are the bulk version of the Mini Mags, but in my experience they work great, i will be pickin some up this coming week for sure

-
what part of the mag should be sanded? i saw video that takes the mag apart sands it from the inside but it seems like they still wont drop free maybe something on the upper needs to be modified?
-
the magazine seems to take some "effort" to remove from the rifle and i am wondering if there is something that can be done to make these drop free for easier and quicker mag changes i am running the factory 10rd mags and also the black dog machine 10rd mags any info would be greatly appreciated thanks

got a chance to hit the range again since my GF's sister recently got a GLOCK 17 for her HD/SD weapon, so while she was out breakin it in i went ahead and got some range time with my Glock 30SF and more sighting of the red dot on my Sig522 zombies need to stay the fvck up out my way :bitenails: :D   boom!!! face shot...done at 30-50ft with red dot off hand with the sig522 very satisfied with the grouping of my 30SF running CCI Blazers at around 20ft...5 shot groups hole in a hole on most (the big holes are the .45 :D ) sorry for the scattered .22 holes everywhere, some were from sighting in the 522 and some are from sighting in my little HP22 "burner" LOL :bow1:
