  1. Don't need anything else on this rifle unless you are a mall ninja.......This one is for shooting.....
  2. I am really enjoying my military look a like 22s....THe HK MP5 is a real riot at all the ranges that I have shot it at.......I like it the most with the Umarex Colt C4 next, then the GSG AK 47 22, then the S&W M&P 15 22 MOE.....All are great weapons for the cost and cheap ammo that I am burning up at an alarming rate............The guy in Walmart sporting goods thinks I am conducting a small scale war some where......Bought 4 555 boxes of Winchester today.
  3. I bought the S&W M&P 22cal C 4 Ops for my son and the grandsons since they were driving me nuts to go shooting my other 22 cal military look a likes. The Ops is the same rifle as the 15 22 with a shorter barrel........I removed the factory sights and put a FC Tactical red/green dot scope on it.....The rifle is fantastic for plinking out to 100 yards.....We have had only one FTE using Federal or Winchester bulk.......The more you shoot these new 22 semi autos the better they shoot with light cleaning.
  4. New post on old thread........I bought a H&K MP5 SD (marked HK MP5 on right side.........Mounted a Red Dot scope on it using a Umarex adaptor made for the 9mm version........Zeroed to day and put more than 500 rounds thru it.......I am a bit shakey at my age, but got about 1 inch groups at 25 yards with a few of my (alzshimers twitches)...............I have three other 22 cal military look a like firearms, but I think I like the HK the most.
  5. Have you contacted Umarex customer service about your problems?...........I probably have 3000 rounds through my Colt now and never clean it beyond the level suggested in the owner's manual........No screws have come loose and the barrel nut stays tight also............................................What kind of ammo are you using?....Some types of ammo are much dirtier than others.........I have used Winchester 36 grain hollow point bulk packs for the most part.........I would say that an occasional FTF or FTE is normal for most ammo in most guns. Am really sorry you are having a bad time with your Colt.
  6. I bought an Arminius pistol in 22 cal about 25 years ago.....It has a 6" barrel with a ventilated rib and is an 8 shot double action.......For a cheap 1960s German made pistol I sure have enjoyed it.....Even with the dovetail rear sight it is very accurate and also reliable.......My oldest daughter calls it "Dirty Harry's 22"....She enjoys shooting it... Has anyone had any experience with these pistols?
  7. Old post new picture...............................My S&W 2206 Stainless with 4 1/2" barrel...I have had it over 20 years and many thousands of rounds thru it.....Still like new.......This one won't go any where till after I am dead.
  8. A few of my pieces that need cleaning.. S&W 38 Special 3 1/2" barrel 5 shot S&W 2206 Stainless Steel 22cal Arminius 6" barrel 8 shot 22cal Astra A 70 9mm Colt 1911A1 mod 80 45cal
  9. Thye red dots scopes are great for general plinking all the way out to 100 yards....I have one on my GSG AK 47 22 cal and it works great for my grand kids........
  10. Longitude Zero, my Colt and S&W both break down nearly the same.....Push out the pin just behind the trigger and safety and the rifles break like the 5.56 ARs....The further field stripping may differ some what, but if the manual is followed there is no problem............................................Do you have both rifles to do hands on comparisons?.........Both rifles are great and the owners are entitled to their opinion of which they prefer........I like both and would recommend either equally.
  11. I have over 2000 rounds thru my Umarex Colt (Walther) C-4 Carbine and haven't noticed anything loose nor have I had any problems......................The Colt carbine and the Colt OPs are the same except for the furniture......I think the ones with the 90 degree safety are an improved version over the ones with the 180s....... I'll take your coments on the loose screws and barrel nut as a heads up and watch mine closely.....
  12. Longitude Zero, could you explain what you mean by "manual of arms"......... Having both rifles and having fired both extensively, I can find no significant difference in quality and accuracy between the two...The only fault I find with the S&W M&P is that the receiver is polymer where as the Colt has an all aluminum receiver............Have you personally owned and operated both rifles or are you going by other peoples reviews?
  13. I have a NcStar 3x9x42RE on my Colt C 4 22 cal......I like this scope because of it's size and shape as it looks better on an AR type rifle rather than a long bulky scope....So far my scope has worked well with my rifle....................I ordered through Walmart for just under $80. My C 4 Colt with scope next to S&W M&P C 4 OPs......
  14. Umarex Colt (Walther) does not make pink weapons as far as I can determine so you will have to find a durable type of pink paint.
  15. They did a good job because mine works great and I have no complaints.....What does p*** me off is that the 10 round mag costs as much as the 30 round does...You need a 10 round to be able to bench rest for zeroing.....I will eventually break down and buy one......
  16. I have read many reviews complaining that the C 4 22 has an undesirable 180 degree safety.......There is also complaint that the ejector port cover (dust cover) does not work; mine does and I also have the 90 degree safety...... Could it be that I have an up graded model?
  17. I haven't tried it, but it is rumored that if you back the "bolt speed screw" fully back or remove it full auto is possible.......
  18. I have fired both rifles extensively.....There is no substantial difference between the two........I think the arguable difference is in the shooter's skill level or the type of sights or optics used.
  19. I have heard a lot of folks nit picking this rifle, but after several thousand rounds, I don't have a single complaint.....Not one FTF or FTE that I can rember..... I got it with the black polymer furniture and ordered the wood from ATI....Changing it out was easy as pie.....The rifle feels more like the real thing with the wood. Dan
  20. I know this thread is a bit old, but I thought I might add a picture of my Umarex Colt C 4 with a NcStar 3x9 scope on the carrying handle.......Having the scope so high above the bore makes zeroing at various ranges difficult.
  21. I have the GSG AK 47 22cal with two sets of furniture.....I like the AK in the original looking configuration so the only thing I have added is a Red dot scope on the side mount. My grand kids have become quite good with this rifle even though it is a bit bulky for them.....The rifle will shoot 1" groups at 25 yards with the iron sights with my bad eyes, but it will shoot tighter groups with a better shooter than I......
  22. Hello folks.....In the last year I have bought a Umarex Colt (Walther) C 4 22 cal, a GSG AK 47 22 cal, and a S&W M&P AR 15 22 C 4 Ops for my son and grand sons......I have sold my AR 15 5.56. and AK 47s 7.62x39.......My grand kids didn't like the recoil and loud noise of the big calibers plus the ammo costs were too much because I shoot a lot....I am also too old for the big guns as my bones can't take the pounding...............................I do have several pistols of various calibers and two scoped rifles for hunting...... As the new 22 cal "look a likes" come out, I may be adding more "22 cal tactical rifles" to my small collection. Dan
