447MSGT Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Is there anywhere or anyone who can thread my barrel? Can I buy a threaded barrel for a decent price?
imschur Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Check this out at snipers hide. That said any machine shop with a lathe that can thread can do it.
Madhouse Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 My buddy that builds machine air gun parts has a CNC and 2 lathes. We're going to thread our 15-22 barrels soon.If you like, I'll ask him to do a third barrel. Shouldn't be a problem.
bdavison Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Ive always been impressed with GEMTECH. They offer threading services as well, and their quality is tops. You could of course look locally where you live for a gunsmith. Just ask to see their previous work before you hire them for the job.
447MSGT Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 I dropped off the upper to Vanden Berg customs in Webster on Saturday. He told me he has done several of these and he doesnt have to remove the barrel. He states he has made a mandrel for them that enables him to thread the barrel without removal. He is charging me $60, and I got an A2 style compensator from Tactical Innovations Inc. on clearance for $5 bucks
