The commerically made composters work well from what I've been told by otherswho have backyard gardens, but they are pricey. You can make one from a 55 gallon drum. Of course most of the older people doing compost swear the piles or piles work better.

I do neither since, I don't get enough leaves or grass clippings to get one going, plus being dry NM I'd have to water a pile at least weekly.

Our composter is a great big pile behind the house, way behind the house. Works great, just dig out what you need at planting time and you're good to go. Never used one of those fancy city slicker rotary compost machines. Hell, I hear some of them even got motors on them.

I could see me turning one or two of the parking spaces at my building into compost piles  :laugh:

Sounds like a plan to me why not just fill up a couple of cars ?
