asmurff Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 I just got back from getting my Spikes Tactical lower, with what I had been saving and Christmas money I was able to get it sooner. Hopefully it won't take me to long to save the rest I need for the upper.
imschur Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Awesome! Are you sticking with a Spikes upper too? Im seeing a lot of uppers at great prices. Not Spikes though.
asmurff Posted December 27, 2010 Author Report Posted December 27, 2010 My initial plan is a Spikes Tactical 16" M4 LE. But will entertain other suggestions.

asmurff Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 Ok I got my eye out for you. :thumb: How much is the spikes?BTW they have some 308 AR stuff coming out thats very exciting :beer:My local gun shop is carrying it at $525, but they generally give me a 5% discount because I a loyal customer. What is the recoil like on a .308 AR?
imschur Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Im a poor judge of recoil. Been shooting .308 semi autos for over twenty years and I grew up on a light Remington 760 pump in .308 It's nothing like a 12 gauge with hunting loads. If your used to say a .223/5.56 I think it will be a bit of a surprise. Its like going from a .32 to a .357, You know your shooting something. Rapid fire there is substantial muzzle climb on a light weapon.
asmurff Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 I guess I'll stick to 5.56/.223 since I don't see me getting involved in any long range shooting competitions, nor am I a hunter. I figure the AR will give me the range I need beyond, my 12ga if the zombies ever come >:D
imschur Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Cant put a 308 on a 556 lower anyhow. Besides after a .22 556 has to be the most economical to shoot. If you find your upper is too far down the road and your itching to shoot I wouldn't hesitate to loan you my Colt Match HBAR upper.
asmurff Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 No I think I'll have the upper in Febuary, having the lower in the gun cabinet and seeing it regularly will speed up the saving process and enhance the amounts
imschur Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 cool, the offer stands though :thumb:
