Jrod77
i want some honest opions i have a 15-22 and was thinking about getting another or trying a 522 but there are very few places up here that rent guns so i am at the mercy of having to buy one to see if i like it so i am asking those that have had both to see what the differences are
crashoverrideplik
I shot one before I bought my M&P 15-22. It shoots really well. I got a better deal on the M&P. I didn't do my research on magazines. I was told you could only use Sig mags and having owned Sigs before I knew they were proud of magazines. In reality, it shares the same mags as my CMMG. Had I known that I might have bought the Sig even though there was a price difference. The M&P feel like my CMMG...only lighter.
Longitude Zero
Really just about a tie for me, however the S&W won out because of the overall "feel" of the weapon. It just felt better in my hands. I know it is not scientific but it is what it is.
asmurff
Hey the best one is the one that feels right, same is true for self defense guns.
Shooter526
The Sig is a very showy gun. You feel bad to take it out hunting or get it dirty. The M&P feels like a gun that enjoys getting a little dirty. The choice is yours but definately research the gun as far as issues and manufacturer problems. Also do your research if you plan to modify it because depending on what you do it may have some problems with say scope mounting or with sling capabilities. Ya know the little things. 21rides2rule
for the ones ive seen the mags dont seem to fit as tight in the sig as i think they should and what shooter said about the showy factor of the sig other than that i would also have to say that it just "feels" right when you hold it and at least for me has been an admirable performer and has been a tack driver right out of the box... either way i yo uwill be happy its a gun what more can you say...
