Colt M4 compatibility

Thought I would share compatibility I have come across.

simple things like stocks are compatible. However some are loose and others are not. My Magpul MOE stock was solid. however my Magpul CTR has a little play.

I installed a Noveske Dustcover but the springed tab doesnt work. I tried swapping the springed tabs but still slight tolerance differences so it wont swap over.

Im curious to know if gasblocks can replace the front sight. I would also like to install a big latch charging handle just to facilitate priming or removing FTF rounds in the gun with one hand.

has anyone tried replacing the tactical rail system on the M4 with a real AR rail setup?

Hiya Solsud007- it looks like the dustcover latch could be backfiled slightly so the latch tab would engage a little deeper on the reciever, I'll try when Santa makes her delivery... ;D

I would be most interested in a new grip, I have fairly large hands (hold the jokes) and the stock grip gets a little lost in my hand, it fits my 7 year old perfect. I understand the AR grips do not fit with out modification, anyone heard about any companies producing grips which require no modifications?

I have not, but most all will fit with a hole redrilled...

solscud...for the butt is the buffer tube mil spec or commercial spec? I was looking at a MOE stock...if only my dealer will bring one in....
