techmike
Anyone use one for gun cleaning? I have a small one I use, with simple green as a solvent. Read some where not to use them if your gun has tritium sights... Can anyone confirm that? Thanks,TM
imschur
I would like to know too. I just bought an ultrasonic cleaner myself.
Microgunner
We use ultrasonic cleaners on jewelry and they often shake the jem stones out of the jewelry. They appear mild but are really rather violent on a microscopic level. Possibly they'll shake the tritium tubes loose?
asmurff
I know tritium is slightly radioactive, supposely want even register on a geiger counter. So I guess better safe than having EPA at the door >:(
Tal
We use ultrasonic cleaners on electronic circuit boards. Boards come from the field full of carbon dust and other good stuff. 1st thing that happens is a bath in an ultrasonic cleaner, followed by a dry off in a pizza oven. Then, the troubleshooting starts. Amazing how many boards get fixed by just an ultasonic bath. Triacs and conductive dust don't like each other.
