StuTalon
So I have helped a friend clean and oil both used and new guns before, but was wondering how those checks for things like burrs, metal/metal wear, etc... apply to this rifle as the majority of it is not metal. As a new 15-22 owner what should I be looking for with this rifle where the majority of it is polymer? I figure a little time spent up front prepping it properly will save me some headaches down the road.
rodent.22
I have the 15/22 Pistol version. Other than a minor wipe n swab before firing there were no issues regarding machining debris or polymer flashing. All operating parts were really crisp and clean, nothing to be noted. Swab the barrel and oil the bolt and fire that thing! Good Shooting!

rodent.22
It's a matter of choice- the primer compounds in use now are non-corrosive, so cleaning is not required immediately.
