jnewland243
Going to be picking up a .22 pistol in the next 4-6 weeks and right now I'm leaning towards the Ruger SR22P but also looking at the Sig Mosquito. Anyone here use one or the other or both and can give me some opinions on these guns. Also open to recommendations for another .22 pistol. Thanks,Jeff
Lastdragon
I have both. The Ruger, in my opinion is twice the gun. I have a lot of failure to feed with the Mosquito. The Ruger rairly has a failure. I think that the Mosquito feels better in the hand, but it's just not the gun that the Ruger is. I am very pleased with the Ruger. techmike
I had a Mosquito, but sold it to a friend. Mine was prone to a lot of jamming until I found the addendum to the manual that said I was supposed to oil the small hole near the extractor - no problems after that. I have no experience with the Ruger. My current & favorite .22 pistol is the GSG1911. That is one fun gun! Good luck with your decision, or just make it easy on yourself and get them both. ;D
Microgunner
As a firearms dealer I've handled many of both but have not fired either. The Ruger has the appearance of being better built by a considerable distance.
jnewland243
I'll be going with the Ruger, after the replies here and a few reviews on YouTube it seems like a solid pistol and at $325 or so can't really go wrong. Longitude Zero
I had a similiar dilemma. I went however with the SIG P226-22LR and a 9mm X-Change Caliber Conversion. I got both the gun and caliber kit for less than the price of a P226 9mm by itself. I have had no issues with either the 22 or 9.
