After a month long wait for my local dealer to get my 416 145 RS in I have had a weekend of shooting.  about 100 rds and about 15 stoppages!  I'm using a subsonic round (SAK moderator fitted) to keep the noise down.  most stoppages have been a failure to pick up and load the next round although 2 have been poor ejection.

I know the 416 is designed to fire HV but I have read many posts saying they shoot well and reliably on sub sonics, what's going wrong?????

The rifle has a 3-9 x 50 sight, SAK moderator, moderator thread converter and a bipod/ foregrip my armourer on camp gave me (same as fitted to the SA80 A2).

Oh yes and I'm UK based so the £650 I paid for the gun must be what, $2000 in the US?!

I believe you'll need to adjust the recoil spring to run reliably with sub-sonics.

About $1000 US.

I believe you will find the sweet spot on the adjustment screw to handle the subs.

I know the price you paid gives me pause to ever complain about how high the prices are here.

All the same, it's a great rifle, in my humble opinion of course.
