lmao_37 Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 as a new gun owner i have a quick question about texas gun laws, well when i go to the rifle range i use i pack the gun and ammo in the trunk of car and the ammo is in a locked ammo can should my rifle be laid in the trunk in a locked case or do i put a lock through the action so the bolt can close and lay it in the open gun case so the cops can see it if stopped by the cops for a busted tail light or something well we drive an suv and it doesnt have a lockable trunk i just dont wana get a ticket or worse from the police
techmike Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 If you go here, scroll down and click on Texas, you will get your info. However, for the most accurate info, contact the Texas Dept.of Public Safety. TM(Notice how Texas starts with a capital T) ;D
asmurff Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 I thought in Texas rifles were only allowed to be transported loaded and in a rifle rack in the rear window of a Ford, Chevrolet, GMC or Dodge pickup truck ;D Only kidding lmao
Madhouse Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Rifles can be carried about any which way. It's good to err on the cautious side however, and transport it unloaded, in a case.Of course, a gun rack is the best-looking and most decorative method to tote your long guns! C:-)
