lmao_37
iam looking at getting a new rifle i have been looking at an 1871 Henry martini in .477-450 but i have a bad injury to my shoulder that wont heal or be the same again and its a little delicate .22's are fine but any reasonable recoil will mess things up and i think that a .17 hmr bolt action would be good for what i wanna use it for (bye bye prairie dog)just want to find out what other people think
asmurff
That sounds like a plan, although I've never fired one of the .17hmr, it should give you more power without excess recoil. Plus I like bolt action rifles.
Microgunner
The .17HMR has virtually zero recoil and plays hell with small critters. Just be aware, if you shoot something you intend to eat make it a head shot. The little Hummer will ruin rabbits and squirrels that were body shot. Madhouse
I've got a Savage bolt gun in .17HMR, it is laser accurate. I'm amazed at how well I can shoot with it. It's a total blast, I could shoot it all day long.

lmao_37
well i might have to change calibers after all as i might be getting to hunt coyote's so i was thinking of a .223 bolt action does anyone have any idea's about any other caliber's that would be better suited ? Microgunner
Maybe the .243, .204 Ruger, .22-250, .220 Swift but I think the .223 is ideal coyote medicine.
