I did try them this past Monday, saw no real improvement over the CCI Mini-Mags, so I doubt I'll pay the extra for them. Hadn't thought about them being to hot so thanks for mentioning it.

I took the 10/22 to the range today and shot 250 rounds through it and have a couple of items to pass a long. Again had some problems with the Butler Creek 25 round Hot Lip magazines. Last time I was out I had one that was not feeding well, when I got home I washed it throughly with warm soapy water, blew it out very well with the compressor and after it was dry, cleaned it again with rubbing alcohol. That one worked fine today. Two of the others gave me fits, what it appears is happening is they are sticking down around the 8-10 round from the top and it only happened with the Federal Bulk ammo, CCIs in the same magazine were fine. Next time to see if I can figure out what the problem is 1. I'll throughly clean the all my magazines even though the aren't very dirty. 2. I'll hand load the magazines instead of using the Bulter Creek loader. 3. I'll load a magazine each of CCI Min-Mags, Stinger, Federal Bulk and Federal. If anyone has any other idea throw at me! I shot Stingers through it for the first time today and they did fine. So far I have shot Federal Bulk, CCI Mini-Mags, CCI Stinger, Remington Cyclone (didn't care for this one left the rifle very dirty.)

I bought 2 50rd boxes at Wal-Mart the other 6.59 a box. This will be the first time I've used them in the 10/22 probably on Monday.

I went to the range yesterday with my 10/22. Up until now I'd been shooting what I could find for purchase, but yesterday I had two kinds of ammo; Federal Bulk 525 and CCI Mini-Mags. I was able to see the difference between the two very clearly. The Federal routinely shoots groups of 1-1/2 inch while using a bi-pod, where as the CCI comes in at 1 inch. I shot 2 target of each with the same results.

Sure now the productivity of all the Tactical 22 members is going to go down :beer:

Well I think I'll just leave the rifle as is, it is extremely accurate even with the inexpensive Bushnell Rimfire Scope. It is a starter rifle so finding upgrades are very difficult. At sometime in the future I may try making my own stock, but not anytime in the near future.

Well I'll be returning the stock tomorrow, they don't make it for lefties except once in a great while. :-[

I've used the Gunslick Foaming but couldn't give you much on whether it works or not since the rifle wasn't very old. It was clean as a whistle afterwords and took less patches, I think it carried alot of the just surface stuff down and out when it was foaming. I like Gunslick products but it's because of they don't have chemicals with harmful vapors and being a heart patient that is important.
