  1. Nice! FYI, I have a muzzle brake on my .308 that was made for .308, and the exit hole measures 8.76mm.
  2. Well, I am a sucker for the Colt M4. I got mine new for $600, see them now for $399 or less. Have done a bit of work on mine, Bill Springfield trigger job, few mods, ect ect. I would not part with it for anything. I have heard good things about the S&W MP15-22, have not fired one, but it doesn't have the feel of the metal Colt. But, it is a lot easier to clean the the Colt. Good luck with your decision!
  3. That's gotta be frustrating! Are there any other symptoms? Is the mag well and truly seated? Can't be pulled out unless the mag release button is pushed? Have you tried another magazine? If you did the complete disassembly for cleaning, did you put the ejector (part # 48) back in? (I know I have put my Colt all the way back together and found # 48 sitting there on the bench, hiding in plain sight) What mods if any have you done to the Colt? Sometimes it helps to put all the original parts back on, and if it works, try the mods one at a time. TM

    .22lr blanks

Well, the military uses blanks for training and color guards at funerals, ect. But they are "dirty" and leave a lot of residue. Some can leave corrosive residue behind. But for .22s? I have never seen any .22 blanks that are the same physical size of a .22lr cartridge, so they would not cycle well if at all in a semiauto firearm. The only ones I have seen are blanks for starter pistols, (revolvers), and the loads for powder hammers, and they come with a warning NOT to use them in a firearm. And really, what Mr Smurf said is excellent advice. My sister's car developed a bullet hole in the hood from someone on May 5th. Plus, you live in California, they have no sense of humor there regarding firearms. TM
  5. Kentucky windage is the technical term.....
  6. Looks good! Excellent job.
  7. Welcome to Tac22, and enjoy your Colt. I agree, they are sweet!
  8. Ohio requires 12 hours of class, with at least 2 hours range time. When CC became law here, I had the opportunity to take a NRA Instructor class, which was two full days. It was great, with tactical shooting scenarios and really good instruction. Nice thing is, I do not have to re-take the class to re-qualify when my CHL is due for renewal. Enjoy your class!
  9. Does it need to hold the keyboard also?
  10. Hi Mike & Welcome!
  11. The SuperX works just fine in my Colt, no functional issues at all. It is not my favorite, larger groups than Federal.
  12. Not that I am aware of. It is an easy mod to get one to fit - just make it look like the original one. You will have to drill a second hole in the AR grip to allow the hammer strut to go thru, and usually enlarge the mounting hole .050" or so.
  13. I did that a while back, and the sling attachment device did not fit on the Colt - the ID was way too big. Let us know how yours works out.
  14. Yeah - I don't know of anything for an AR that fits on the Colt without some work. Except for rail type accessories.
  15. I just watched a Military channel piece that detailed that during Vietnam, grunts would only load 16 rounds into their 20 round M-16 mags, because otherwise the springs took a set and the mags would malf during combat. I have never had a problem with long term loaded mags, pistol or rifle. I have two Colt/Umarex 30 rounders that have been fully loaded for close two years - next time I hit the range I will take them and see what happens.
  16. The OEM stock is such a loose fit that I doubt it could be made to bind. Looks tactiCOOL - let us know how it works Mark.
  17. ;D Yes.
  18. The Stark is a great grip for an AR - it's on mine. But due to the integrated trigger guard it does not fit the Colt. I have one of THESE on my Colt. But please be aware, there are no AR grips that work out of the box on the Colt/Umarex - you have to drill a hole to accommodate the hammer strut.
  19. I didn't even try-looked like way too much work. Gave the extra one to a buddy.
  20. First time I fired my Judge, I was using bird shot and at 10 feet caught pellets in my face that bounced off the target frame. I only use buck and 45LC these days. I have enough issues without shooting myself... ;D
  21. Howdy and welcome.
  22. I have not seen any used ones for sale. CTD has new ones. There is a pair of new 30 round mags on Gun Broker for $60 + shipping. HERE
  23. Read it Here Anyone else heard of this?? :o
  24. Bummer! Now get back in that AC!
  25. That sounds like so much fun!
