Well heck, I may just have to try that compensator - looks good! TM

Tanks are fun! I had 11 going at one time long ago. My favorite one was full of bluegill. TM

What a weekend. (Mine is Thur/Fri) I drained the pond, put all the fish into 30 gallon cans with aeration, ripped the liner out of the pond, and dug it deeper and wider. Especially deeper - anything over 2.5 feet seems to discourage herons, (may they become extinct soon), from fishing. installed a new liner, refilled the pond and returned the fish to their new digs. I think I moved about 15 - 20 cubic feet of dirt. Clay. Heavy stuff. I could barely move this am..... :o TM PS - I have introduced 2 perch and 2 bluegill to the pond.....

Just got my Umarex Colt M4 OPS .22 L.R. hello from england

Sweet! I detect signs of custom additions, just out of the box!!! TM :thumb: PS - What are your ammo options over there? -
This had to hurt! TM

I am lucky enough to be a member of a private club just across the line in Michigan. Outdoor pistol, 15, 25 , 50, and a 100 yd rifle. Plus an indoor range for non magnum pistol. $60 / year. The outdoor pistol range has an aluminum roof to keep the sun off. I was very surprised last trip to see several bullet holes in the roof. This is so uncool, as over the years the range has been surrounded by housing..... TM PS we need a "thumb down" smiley!

Does rimfire really require a rimfire scope?
techmike replied to Mr. Jones's topic in Optics and sights
My personal favorite on my Colt M4 is the LEATHERWOOD CMR scope. It is designed for .223/ .308, 100 to 800 yds. I have mine zero'd @ 50 yds with the zero lock engaged. For 110 yds, I simply add 6 clicks of elevation (tac turret) and there I am. TM PS - Great info Drew! -
Just got an email reply- they do not make it in a free float configuration. TM

That sucks, but a good range officer would have walked the line and checked that all firearms were locked open and safe! TM

They can be finiky out of the box. The Federal Value Pack from WalMart has been real good through mine, also BVAC ammo. Good luck! TM

Umm, that sounds like a problem. Loosen compensator 2 turns, remove rear pin, it should open right up. HERE is a power point with pictures that may help. TM

When I resided in Sacramento, the temp was usually triple digit most of the summer. Didn't really bother me - it truly was a "dry" heat. Now I am in Ohio, where the summer temps usually are matched by the humidity. Sucks. TM

Anyone seen THIS? Initially, it appears pricey, but when you add the price of a Harris to the price of a quad rail..... not so bad. TM

Question about the Umarex compensator
techmike replied to ellie_18's topic in Colt Umarex Mods and Upgrades
If you are asking about the one sold by Colt, that kinda/maybe looks like a suppressor, in an e-mail from Colt Customer Service, it is strictly cosmetic. I asked last year when I purchased my M4 Ops. TM -
The one thing I disliked most about the Colt was the difficulty level when re-installing the barrel and the slide catch spring. Just a bad design. I came up with a solution that has worked very well on my Colt. The spring (and bolt) are now held captive by the slide catch and the modified spring hole. Umerex/Colt m16 SPR butt stock
techmike replied to ellie_18's topic in Colt Umarex Mods and Upgrades
Hey ellie_18, and welcome to the site. The Colt/Umarex's "buffer tube" measures 28.75 mm in diameter. My Sabre Defense AR's buffer tube measures 30.20 mm in diameter. Every stock I have tried on the Colt fit's, but is a sloppy fit. What I have done with success is to use an adhesive, (single side), teflon tape as shim stock inside the stock. I place it lengthwise at 9, 12 and 3 o'clock positions, and that works for me. TM -
Those are plastic mags, aren't they? If so, you might want to try some silicone spray lube in the mag after your cleaning. TM
