Hi Tony and Welcome. TM

Well, that's possible. I got the spring from gun parts Corp. I will have to re-look at that spring. Thanks MG! TM

Question about the Umarex compensator
techmike replied to ellie_18's topic in Colt Umarex Mods and Upgrades
Neither - it is larger in diameter than the bore, but the inside was not smooth - bad machining marks, I used 1000 grit wet paper saturated in an industrial polishing solution, then blued it. Didn't get to the range today, went fishing instead. TM -
Today will be fun - going to the range in the AM, then out to Metzger's Marsh (a pier in Lake Erie) and go fishing afternoon and evening. :thumb: TM PS - Sharp hooks, no free bait!

OK - tighten the set screws on the bottom of the handguard - that should take care of it. TM

Welcome! I think the wrenches are 2.5mm and a long 4.0mm. The stock wobble can be cured by shimming inside the stock with self adhesive teflon tape. But there should not be any wobble or play in the hand-guard. Since you mentioned it was "pre-owned", I would suggest to have it checked before you fire it. TM

Nope. Ithica reopened near here, in ohio, but they don't seem to answer e-mails. This one has got me stumped. Logic says, the recoil spring must be weak - as the lighter loads work a-ok. TM

Love fishing - Did lots of (river) salmon/steelhead fishing when I lived in Cali, also lots of moutain lake fishing, and ocean fishing. I now live a couple of miles from Lake Erie, perch, walleye, bass, cats crappie....Going fishing this Friday as a matter of fact. TM

I understand the S&W is a fine rifle. I have not fired one, but have held one. I am kinda partial to the Colt. TM :thumb:

OK - The Colt's comp is on it's way to Arkansas tomorrow. I have re-looked at the thread adapter for the Colt, and the extended AR flash hider I tried a while back. When these items were on my Colt, accuracy suffered. The thread adapter has no crown, and when installed, this is the muzzle of the Colt. So, I endeavoured to cut a 11 degree crown on the adapter, and make a brake out of the extended flash hider. After I got done, went to the range and noticed a definite reduction in the muzzle twitch. I will look forward to trying the home made brake on my AR. I am thinking that the large inside diameter of the brake/hider limits it's effectiveness on a .22. Anyway, it was fun to make metal shavings! TM

Uncooked rice is a great moisture absorbent. I also use a primer sealant. TM

No reply from Colt, so far.... TM -
Less than what I paid for mine from Gander Mtn. Just ran 50 rounds thru mine last Friday, flawless. I have had more problems with center fire pistols than with this. (Have not had any problems with the Mosquito) TM
