American Eagle 40 grainsolid point unplated- .9790 OAL, bullet diameter .2235, shell diameter .2240. As you can see, the Remington bullet and shell diameters are larger than all the other rounds, except for the Winchester Xpert shell diameter, which is the same as the Remington. In a tight chamber the combination of a larger diameter bullet and a larger diameter shell casing would cause failure to seat in the chamber, failure to eject and light strike problems (caused by the firing pin driving the shell forward in the chamber causing a light imprint in the rim.) The Winchester Xpert ammo also has a larger diameter shell, but the brass doesn't seem to ''grab'' the chamber walls unless combined with the larger diameter bullet, like the Remington ammo. If you are having problems with your .22, you very possibly have a ''tight chamber'' and you need to change to a smaller .22 round. Overall length can vary, the diameter is what is causing people problems....
  3. how did you like the scope?
  4. I definately would like an AR, but with the economy the way it is, the back burner is the location for it right now....
  5. UPDATE: The Krylon Fusion is holding up very well, I would use it again in a minute. After 6 weeks it looks like it is new, not wearing off at all..... :thumb:
  6. I believe that the bolt speed on the Colt contributes greatly to failure to eject and stovepipe issues. The darned bolt moves faster than the extractor can react. By turning the nut inwards on the spring you increase spring pressure on the back of the bolt, this slows the speed of the bolt down. The more powerful the ammo, hyper velocity or mini-mag, the more that bolt needs to be slowed down. If you are having issues, break her open and tighten that adjustment nut inwards far as it will go......
  7. Sounds like there will be some hangings in Tennessee....This kind of crap gives us all a bad name.... >:(

  17. Congress has given our regulatory agencies power to administratively fine any company doing interstate business in this country. If a guy walks in and fines your business $10,000 for a real or perceived violation of even an obscure or unclear law or regulation, it will cost you the $10,000 or more to fight it. This is why these businesses are electing to get out....A guy in a start-up business might not make that $10,000 in 6 months of work. See why we don't have an expanding economy? Wonder why your kid or grandkid has no future other than a fast food position? Hell, even the phone service jobs are all in India now. I'll stop my rant now....it just gets worse.LOL
  18. TM sure sounds like a nice offer- only if it's no problem to anyone all the way around.
