  1. Only to one of the two. ;D
  2. I'm not quite sure how to use the website. Where do I find articles?
  3. A warm barrel wouldn't shoot any better than a cold barrel if the barrel remained cold. But as a barrel warms the steel expands changing the point of impact. Once the barrel achieves it's normal operating temperature the groups will settle down. If you increase or decrease your rate of fire your group's point of impact will change slightly again. Bull barrels are used to reduce this effect as well as stabilize the firearm.
  4. Welcome from Florida.
  5. First off, am I the only person on this board with a Kimber rimfire? I could find no sub-listing for Kimber. Back to Kimber. I took my Kimber Rimfire Target dedicated .22lr 1911-A1 from my safe for comparison to my new RIA XT22 and noticed, or re-noticed I should say, that the extractor in my Kimber is completely worn out from countless rounds down range. Pistol still works fine unless you're trying to extract a live round and then the problem rears it's head. Could not find the part on Kimber's website so I gave them a call. Now keep in mind that this a pistol purchased new in 2004 or 2005 and has untold rounds down the tube and Kimber simply asked for my address to mail me a replacement extractor and extractor spring free of charge. Thanks Kimber. :thumb:
  6. Thanks for the link. :thumb:
  7. Bushmaster has been building composite uppers and lowers for years under the model Carbon 15. I believe they've been reasonably well received.
  8. Pretty Smurffy. :thumb:
  9. Thanks for the link.
  10. I pulled my Kimber Rimfire Target from the safe yesterday and the RIA and Kimber mags are identical with the exception of the Kimber logo and a slightly different profile on the base plate. I also own (2) 15*shot aluminum mags for my Kimber Rimfire Target and they all work perfectly in my new RIA XT-22. Also, fired both the RIA XT-22 and Kimber Rimfire Target in the back yard yesterday. Shot only Remington Golden Bullet bulk. The RIA had one stovepipe and the Kimber had on FTFire (ammo's fault). The RIA has the lighter trigger pull, although not by much, but the Kimber's trigger is much crisper. Advantage Kimber. The sights on the Kimber are far better than those suppilied with the RIA. Advantage Kimber. The Kimber's profile is exactly the same as a center fire 1911 whereas the RIAs slide and barrel are smaller in diameter than a centerfire upper. The Kimber fits a 1911 holster and the RIA is loose in a 1911 holster. Advantage Kimber. Magazines free fall from the Kimber but must be dragged out of the RIA. Advantage Kimber. The Kimber is easier to reasssemble than the RIA. Advantage Kimber. The RIA's slide and frame are constructed of 4140 chrome moly steel while the Kimber's slide and frame are aluminum. Advantage RIA (maybe). Overall preference: Kimber. If I had bothered to drag my Kimber from the safe first I wouldn't have ordered the RIA. Who am I kidding? If I see two yellow Volkswagens in a row I order a new firearm to celebrate. I can always find a reason to justify a new purchase. I like both and will keep both.
  11. Maybe I was precocious but at aged 12 this would've been heaven as well for me. All I can think is "lucky boy, lucky boy".
  12. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  13. Good thing to know. So what's the desired OA thread length for a rimfire suppressor?
  14. Welcome. I'm not a good source for which .22lr pistol is best. I own or have owned more .22s than I can remember and still have no idea which is best. Among target 22 pistols my favorites are the S&W mod 41 and Benelli MP95. For military styled rimfires I like the CZ Kadet and Kimber 1911 Rimfire Target. Then I own 15 or 20 rimfire revolvers and can't say I dislike a single one. Just jump in and buy whatever strikes your fancy...you'll be buying more.
  15. So, the problem was what I originally thought, too much threads, or is the problem not enough threads allowing the suppressor to bottom out on the muzzle face causing scratches?
  16. A few scratches just makes it look....competent, as though someone was able to depend on it and so shows some wear, but not abuse. Back when I was into photography and camera bodies were made of plated or painted brass we used to lightly sand the corners of the bodies to "brass them up" making them look experienced.
  17. Or maybe I'll buy the threaded barrel for my CZ Kadet instead. By far my favorite "combat styled" rimfire pistol.
  18. No. Just tell me how thick your spacer ends up being and I'll ask Clark to shorten my threads by that amount.
  19. Welcome. Great choice for a first rifle.
  20. This is my next project. I'm going to do the very same thing.
  21. Have you gotten a sub sonic recoil spring for it, or is it reliable with the factory spring?
  22. Damnation! That's one fine looking set up. No compromises, top shelf all the way. :thumb:
  23. It's like when I quit drinking, Budweiser laid off three guys and Rolaids sent me a nasty letter. ;D
  24. Working over time. Will be off tomorrow, on Thursday, off Friday, on Sat & Sun. Weeeeeeeee!
  25. Nope. Looks like he's saying "kiss my fuzzy ass".
