  1. I own (2) S&W 617s. A 8.375" and a 4", both 6-shot. The 8.375" is heavy, extremely heavy and the 4" is no lightweight either. Both shoot good but neither as good as my (4) other S&W K framed .22s (a 8.375" 17, a 6" 17, a 4" 18 and a 8.375" 53 w/.22lr cylinder. The 8.375" 617 has very tight chambers and after about 20 rounds or so the empties will begin dragging on the recoil shield and the charge holes will have to be cleaned in order to continue shooting. PITA.
  2. Welcome to T22 Old Salt.
  3. Did you thank her for the fine stage show and give her a big tip?
  4. Now that's recycling.
  5. Sorry for the late welcoming. :-[
  6. Welcome to T22.
  7. Looks good. I own one Legacy Sports rifle, a Puma PPS .22lr and it's a fine rifle, maybe my favorite "tactical 22". I'd like to give this one a look.
  8. George, this is the schematic for your Colt M4 on page 26. Part #39 is your firing pin. Note the flats protruding from the firing pin, these serve as a firing pin stop to avoid dry fire damage. http://www.colt22rimfire.com/uploads/pdfs/Manual-Colt-22-TacticalRimfire.pdf
  9. Are her legs really that long or has some computer magic taken place?
  10. [quote name=Michigan Joe ] That's why sporting clays is popular. They constantly change the stations to present you with different shots. As a result' date=' you will have more fun and less frustration by shooting sporting clays than trap or skeet. And to add to what MJ has said I read some years ago that since Sporting Clays introduction in England in the 1920s, all Trap and Skeet national level competitions have been won with a perfect score but no Sporting Clays competition has ever been won with a perfect score. Keeps it interesting.
  11. Cool, hoping all goes well.
  12. I have shot all three games and love them. I'm particularly addicted to sporting clays, especially the abbreviated version called "5 stand". Trap I could live without, kinda boring. I prefer to shoot my Browning Citori 12ga., which I shoot best, but I also own a Remington 11-87 Sporting Clays, a Browning Auto-5 and my beloved Winchester mod 12 left to me by my Dad which he bought new in 1942 and with which he won numerous competitions and brought home more game than I could count. He was a great shot. Be very cautious, shotgun sports are extremely addictive. ;D
  13. I'm a long time dry fire practitioner and have yet to damage a single firearm including my Colt M4, but the first moment any firearm I own does suffer damage from dry firing it will be sold, not something I want to own, too delicate. If dry firing worries you use snap caps or empty brass.
  14. Welcome sscs045, nice lookung Colt.
  15. So, you must drive all the way across the Netherlands to pick up your firearm? How far a drive is that?
  16. Welcome, fine looking HK. :thumb:

    DPMS LR-308

I post this because of D and his love for the AR-10 platform. We received a DPMS LR-308 with a massive SS bull barrel for a customer. OMG! the damned thing must weigh 14lbs. Makes a Garand feel light weight. I hope the owner plans on packing it little and benching it a lot.
  18. I see you're a southpaw. Does your new CMMG spit empties at you?
  19. First day of the new week and my 9mm X-Change kit as well as an extra mag, new holster and ammo was waiting for me. That's three calibers so far, all I lack is a .40S&W barrel, E-2 conversion, short trigger and short reset trigger.
  20. For every opportunity there's a criminal. Thanks for the heads up.
  21. I think I've found a case that will surfice from CTD. Comes in black, tan and green.
  22. With the high cost of quality wood blanks, the substantial added cost of shaping wooden stocks and their sensitivity to weather and wear I'd say fine wooden stocks are going to pass away along with us old timers. Quality plastic stocks are superior in cost, longevity and function almost across the board and are definitely the future of firearms. Wood will eventually become the sole domain of custom firearms. IMO.
  23. Looking for a soft side multi caliber pistol case for my SIG P226. The kit will consist of the frame w/slide, barrel and mag installed, (2) more slides with barrels installed, (1) loose barrel and (5) more mags. Anyone heard of a case that will accommodate this kit?
  24. Haven't seen this in years. Thanks for the posting.
