  1. Yep, they're still around. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=1911+checkered+front+strap&rlz=1R2ADFA_enUS401&psj=1&bav=on.1,or.&wrapid=tlif129814811176510&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=18348435753209939425&ei=2C9gTZeWNorEgQeL-KXVAg&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=image&resnum=5&ved=0CDoQ8gIwBA#
  2. There used to be available an add on checkered front strap that consisted of a checkered sheet metal appliance that was held in place by the grip studs and grips. Don't know if they're still around.
  3. Not only good looking but practical as well.
  4. I'm not much of a fan of front strap checkering. Prolonged shooting bare handed inevitably leaves my hand on the verge of blisters.
  5. Welcome to T22 Rob. Glad you've joined up.
  6. Not a total loss, you traded your cap for a couple of lives and a good story. I'd say you got the better end of the deal.
  7. They cost $234 wholesale so $285 retail isn't too bad.
  8. Don't know about the 522 but I've noticed my VTR is also muzzle heavy.
  9. I was looking at these on YouTube and they seem to function very well. Typical for BDM.
  10. Freaky.
  11. You're definitely going to be the envy of your block. Nice choices. :thumb:
  12. We get them in used here at the pawn shop all the time. We fire the .22 cal crimped blanks from revolvers. More fun than fire crackers.
  13. Ooooo...Weeeee....Damn! That's a tasty one. I just looked up the wholesale price of the HK USP 40 Custom Combat from RSR Group and it's $1088.00. MSRP is $1450.67. $850.00 sounds pretty cheap for a minty example. RSR only offers it in .40S&W. Magazines are a mystery to me too.
  14. Does Wilson or Kimber make a conversion for the Llama? Because I always thought the slide was not interchangeable with true 1911s.
  15. I'm with asmurff. I believe the perfect camping gun is a .22WMR over a 20 ga. My preference is the Savage 24 series.
  16. Congratulations. The pleasure of owning these fine pistols will far outlast any hunger (figuratively) you will endure in the short term. Hey, that's why they invented Ramen noodles, right?
  17. You must not be the only one stocking up. A guy I work with has been trying to hoard up on Glock 9mm mags of all sorts and every wholesaler we use has been sold out since Tucson. Here we go again.
  18. Well, if you ever get a chance to buy one don't hesitate. Damned thing is slick as owl shit and shoots like a bullseye pistol. And with a capacity of 9+1 it makes one fine concealed carry piece.
  19. Well, come on in and set a spell.
  20. Welcome to T22.
  21. Nice, very nice.
  22. Laser arrived, photos as promised.
  23.
