TM ... I still have my Crimson LCP, but would love to upgrade to something in 9mm instead. The little .380ACP just doesn't instill confidence with me, since I've always carried a .45ACP, but it sure is nice to throw in my front pocket when I can't conceal easily. I'm going to research the Kimber Solo and see if it'll fit my needs ... if not, I may pick up a Glock 19 GEN IV and give it a try?

Some shops are taking pre-orders for the Solo Carry ... $659 gets you a ticket to ride. MSRP is in the $700-730 range. I agree with your "minute of bad guy" assessment asmurff ... this CC pistol isn't meant/designed for anything but close quarters CC scenarios, just like my LCP.

That's all I need is another expensive hobby! ::)

http://www.kimberamerica.com/solo One of these will probably be replacing my LCP ... a little spendy though?

Couldn't agree more rodent ... I could never justify putting a hole through any big cat? I just don't see the point thrill-killing such a cool critter?

From what I have read, the rimfire dovetails have two camps ... the Marlins/US rifles run 3/8" and the euro-type rifles run 11mm? This is over-simplified I'm sure but my knowledge of rimfire rifles is pretty limited. The funny part to this story is the fact that my "reborn" interest in firearms was rekindled when I decided to hunt down parts for the little Marlin 700 ... it had a broken trigger housing from over-tightening the rear screw. That rekindling has cost me thousands of $$$ in new firearms, a new safe and ultimately landed me a job in the AR15 industry as an armorer? All because I found so much joy in tracking down a $30 part for my first ever, purchased new Marlin 700 from Big 5 Sporting Goods, some 20+ years ago. As a sidenote, it seems the 700 is actually worth a little something extra, since it is somewhat rare, as Marlin rimfire rifles go ... it had a pretty limited run specifically for Big 5. Once again, sorry for derailing the Amazon thread.

They are pretty cool critters ... we see them on occasion in the mountains around here. I followed one at a distance last winter on my snowmobile while he chased down a rabbit ... those "snowshoe" paws of theirs work really well on the snow! :thumb:

Thanks for the assist fellas. What confuses me about the situation is this ... my Marlin Model 700 dovetail is 3/8" or 0.375 which equals 9.525mm. I would think the 11mm mount might be loose and suffer from "rail walk" when shooting? I have read about a few instances of this occurring on the Marlin rimfire rifles. I did however find a rail made specific for a 3/8" dovetail but it's quite a bit more money than the UTG. Check it out http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=125157&CAT=3603. Apologies for derailing the Amazon thread ... I don't shop through Amazon since they are based in my state and insist on charging me our ridiculous state sales tax on internet sales, even though the product is usually drop shipped from out of state ... BS! >:(

I will be owning one of the Kel-Tec KSG's as soon as they release ... it'll go in my Eberlestock Gunslinger II bug-out pack, right next to my FS2000.
-
Hey Joe ... what UTG scope rail did you order for your Marlin 60? Got a part #? I want to order the same one for my Marlin 700. Thanks for any info.

Thanks buddy ... I'm still hoping to grab you a BOBRO GEN III if they ever show up. I've got dibs on 2 of them! >:(

We need to get that commune/complex set-up in the panhandle of ID like we talked about ... no more worries about BG's getting the jump on us! ;D

??? Magpul ASAP plate Stake = punch mark in the recess on the plate side to secure the castle nut in place. One large plate of "stake" coming right up sir ... ASAP! ;D

Awesome pictures D ... especially of your boy with the "snow face". ;D

I had a chance to test fit the RSA on one of my AR's this week ... well built part but I couldn't find a good way to mount it without interfering with my grip, front flip sight, etc. It is a little bulkier than most of my rail mounted QD's ... Gear Sector to be exact. I think I'm going to sell my MS2 sling and lose all my ASAP plates off all my AR's ... no point having the ASAP without using the MS2 and RSA? Anyone looking for a never fielded MS2 sling(black) and a bunch(5) of ASAP plates, let me know. I did stake my ASAP's so they will have a stake mark on them.

Agreed asmurff ... along with the IRS!
