  1. Seems it's easier for government to get brownie points from the people in our countries that just don't have a clue but shout the loudest by disarming decent law abiding citizens rather than get the weapons out of the hands of criminals. We've been subject to that a couple of times in the past following tragedies. We just had a home office enquiry into our gun control laws following a recent set of shootings here and they found that when they banned pistols here in 97 and took all the legal pistols off their owners gun crime actually went up for a few years after! The Dunblane incident was terrible though. A **** went into a school and killed 16 children (five and six year olds) and one adult with legally held pistols. That's what caused the ban. How do you argue your rights in the shadow of something like that? I've got two children under three and the emotion it stirs is huge. What I'd do if you could go back in time and shut myself in a room with that guy! Glowin
  2. Read that one of our guys beat that not too long ago. Sounds like there was a lot of luck involved. But hey I'm not a sniper so I don't know what's possible. http://www.accuracyinternational.com/news_events.php
  3. I'm not exaggerating this but that's not much more than we'd pay for a dedicated .22 AR 15 over here in England. The one I'm eyeing up at the moment is $1500 basic. Throw on a rail system and we're pretty much in ACR territory...... FOR A .22!! >:( Oh yeah I forgot, it's also highly illegal to own that rifle over here. Our NRA seem to be useless. Won't be long before we can't shoot anything over here. Glowin
  4. Ha ha. It encourages me whilst I'm shooting! ;D
  5. I got sucked in by the whole Magpul brand image/marketing and bought a CTR stock (like nearly everyone else with a black rifle) but I do love it. The Crane stock does look smart though. I was seriously considering it before I developed a man crush on the Magpul Dynamics guys. Now I just want to be like them! ??? Cheers Glowin
  6. Have you tried a bit of threadlock on the compensator? Might help with it coming loose. I think there's a couple of different strengths out. Glowin
  7. I guess you're probably right, not that I know much about this mind. I tend to find the gun is just too much fun to shoot sensibly! ;D I've got a lovely little CZ 453 varmint for the sensible stuff. Out of the box though I'm getting some pretty nice groups off the bench with my Colt. I would be a bit >:( if I lost that just because I fitted something else to the front of it. The tensioned barrel was a negative when I was thinking about purchasing it. I just figured it'd be my fun gun and to hell with pin point accuracy. Cheers Glowin
  8. I wasn't too bothered as if I'd cocked it up I'd have used it as an excuse to buy some new Tango Down covers I'd been eyeing up ;D plus I'd seen loads of people do it to good effect on other web sites. In all the two covers took about an hour. Not too bad with the radio on!
  9. That's cool. If I had a second rifle to pimp I'd look at something like this. The M16 rails are pretty expensive though aren't they? Are they mil spec? Could other makes fit too? Cheers Glowin
  10. After I spent a chunk of cash on Magpul bits for my Colt I decided to do a bit of DIY modifying. I'd seen a bunch of guys do this on M4Carbine.net and thought I'd give it a bash. Bought a £7 soldering iron on ebay and off I went. And I have to say I'm pretty happy with the results. Hope you like.
  11. That's a shame. Might have to post a new thread to see if anyone else has fitted a longer set of rails to their rifle. Sounds like it would look pretty cool.
  12. An more news on this? Sounds like it'll look great once it's finished.
  13. The one on it at the moment looks too high. It looks like I need to file the upper receiver a little but I really don't want to try. I wouldn't imagine it's CNC'd like a Head Down receiver and I can see me putting a hole in it if I try! Think I'll just live with it.
  14. Very cool. I was seriously thinking about Olive Drab myself. How's the tactical lever work out for you. The catch on my lever is slightly high so it doesn't push closed. I've not looked at it yet to fix it but if a replacement like yours works I'd consider just swapping it straight out. Glowin
  15. Cheers. Just updated the photo's to better quality ones. I'm really happy with it but I'm still thinking about what to do next. I like the look of the Spikes Tactical fake can that shrouds back over the barrel and if I got that I'd go for a flip up front site too. But I really like the conventional M4 front end look. So I might just stipple the rail covers and leave it at that. 20 round mags are a must though! Glowin.
  16. Me too! The grip still needs a little bit of tweaking but I'm extremely happy with it all. Thanks to Bullgator Tactical. Even with postage to the UK it was about $60 cheaper than buying it all here! Glowin
  17. Need to get me some 20 round mags. Got a box winging it's way to me right now with a whole bunch of Magpul goodies in it. Can't wait! Christmas coming early with tactical Santa doing a commando roll out of the fireplace!
  18. Still not done too much to it but Christmas is soon and that should see me fixed with a new stock, handle, rail covers, flip up sight and forward grip. Just hope I've been a good boy! ;D
  19. Hi Guys, Just thought I'd point you in the direction of Shooterslegion.com. It's basically Facebook for shooters. Looks like a pretty decent site and the admin people there are great too. If you do sign up look for me (Gareth Owen) as I need some shooting friends. All my mates over here in the UK suck and don't shoot. I need people to talk guns with! Cheers Glowin
  20. This is pretty much the setup I'd go for. WE NEED PICTURES!!! ;D
  21. Does the bolt release work on the H&K then? I thought it'd be pretty much identicle to the Colt M4.
  22. That's pretty insane. This is the european version we have over here.
  23. I reckon south Kent to north Yorkshire would feel like emigrating too. You don't do house moves by halves do you. If my Mum wouldn't kill me for taking her grandson away I'd definitely consider a move to the US myself. Awesome country. Mind you the old timber engineering industry/construction industry seems to have taken even more of a dive over there than it has over here. I guess I wouldn't have time for a job anyway, I'd be too busy shooting all those cheap guns!
  24. Still won't be a patch on the prices we pay over here in the UK ($860 for a M4 Ops and $1000 for an M&P 15-22) but it's not like I'm jealous at all!! >:(
  25. Hi Guys, Just thought I'd share a few pictures of my old semi auto G22. Had it for about five years and had a lot of fun with it. It was quite picky though with ammo and it had to stay well oiled or it would catch the spent cases before they'd had a chance to clear the chamber. Cheers Glowin
