I picked this pistol up Saturday. As I said Davidsons's honored their warranty and I didn't even have to pay shipping. Brand new pistol. Just dropped the old one off, and picked up the new one. Great dealer, and if you live in Texas this is the Davidson's dealer I used Gary Garza. http://garzafirearms.com/default.aspx He worked with me as an intermediary between Kel Tec, and Davidsons. Hell of a great dealer, Great prices, and he truly cares about his customers. Well I got this thing home yesterday, and with much trepidation disassembled it. Cleaned it, Lubed it, put the forened, single point sling and red dot on it. Once I disassembled it, I started looking for loose screws, rattles, etc. and this one looked like someone really took their time at KelTec and set it up properly. Tonight I took it to the Range..After all the bad luck with the 1st one, I COULD NOT BELIEVE the difference. WOW WHAT A GUN!!!!!!!! I was feeding the cheap federals in the 550 round brick. I fed it the entire brick, without a single failure of any kind. No matter how fast I pulled the trigger the pistol operated flawlessly. I started out on a bench and dialed the red dot in and at 17 yards, I was getting around 1 inch patterns. Then I put the sling over my shoulder, stood up and just wailed through 500 rounds of ammo, in nice tight patterns without a failure. Now I see what you tactical 22 guys are talking about. Some of the most fun I've had in my relatively short time of shooting seriously. Just a freakn' blast. The speed loader for the AR15/22LR mags has just spoiled the hell out of me. I'm loving it. Can't comment on the standard iron sites, site picture, cause I didn't use it. I'm in love with my cheap BSA Red Dot.. Highly reccomended!!!!!! 8)

And then I go to the range last night and can't hit the broad side of a barn...... Good nights, and bad nights. Gives you the determination to keep coming back. 8)

I contacted my dealer from Davissons about this issue on Tuesday. I just felt like a sucker sending it back to Kel Tec and paying $70 shipping for firearm that NEVER worked correctly. He forwarded my email to Davidson's and my new PLR22 will be here tomorrow, with a letter of apology from Davidson's Gallery of Guns. They're even throwing in free shipping.... You just can't beat that... I have purchased, in my short time as a pistoleer, 3 firearms from Davidson's. Flawless transaction on all 3. Nice to know they handle problems with the same efficiency as they handle transactions. 8)

Been thinking about it. Is it really that much of cost saver? Looks like by the time you buy the reloader, primers, bullers, you break about even??

For the last 30 years I've owned 3 handguns. My H&R 22lr/Mag, my S&W 38 special, and my trusty Dan Wesson 357. 6 months ago, I screwed up and bought a 40 cal sigma, (My first Semi), and a Judge. Since then, I've been hangin' here and a couple of other sites, and viewing tons of gun porn, You know the Pics of the Les Baer 45's, etc...I've went through all the BS and have got my CHL, and am carrying in public. Now I'm going to the range 3 to 4 nights a week, and I just went to Wally World and dropped $250 on ammo....AGAIN!!!! My favorite night for television is Wednesday, Outdoor channels "Night at the range". My favorite of those shows is "Impossible Shots". I am now an NRA member. With my recent purchase of my Ruger LCR 357mag, I'm now up to 14 handguns, in a matter of 6 months.. :auto: I know I can count on you guys for support and your vast experience. Do I have a problem, as my wife is starting to suggest, or is this normal, and just keep letting the rabbits multiply. ;D Thanks in advance!!! I know I can count on you guys for your support and guidance...

Great deal!!! Which mags? The 14's, 15's or the 10's? Mine came with 1 15 and 2 14's, which is what FNH says is standard with that pistol. I'm jealous. Now back to the range!!!!

I'm extremely proud of him, but worred as well. I wont even tell you about his mother. At least I'll know where the hell he is.. ;D He had taken to cage fighting the last few months for fun and profit. At least, I'm hoping, the Navy will break him of that.... ;D

I have one son who is my only child, that graduated high school last May. He wanted to immediately join the marines upon graduation, but I talked him into giving college a try at least for a semester. He had been ROTC for 3 years of high school, and has wanted to be in the armed forces since he was a kid. He enrolled, making good grades, I'm paying for it full boat, but hell I don't mind, even though it's expensive. Good kid, works after school jobs, making A's and B's in college, 2 black belts in the martial arts, excellent shooter, and so here we are a few months into the semester and he comes home, after a mysterious 2 day disapperance with a 6 year sign up, physical passed signed up for the US Navy!!!! He has signed up for special forces, wants so badly to be a SEAL. He ships out May 3rd, for basic in Chicago, and after that onto California for SEAL training. His mothers, devastated. I'm completely speechless, but I have to honor his wishes. I've offered to get him in the building trades, as I've spent 35 years in the elevator business, and have a lot of contacts, pay for school, etc. but he has made up his mind, and I will honor his decision. He already has passed his pre SEAL test, and is training at the local YMCA. For his departure in May. I've got mixed emotions about this, But you can bet your sweet ASS, I'm going to cherish every moment between now and May 3rd. Gosh I'm going to miss him....

I just couldn't see the $300 dollar diffence in the end, so I ordered the Ruger LCR 357. Davidson's has a great price on them this month for $405 and is good through the 31st. With shipping and tax it still only came out to $453.35. Am going with the Safari Land Pocket Holster with this as well. I have broke my cherry and been carrying around my old S&W 38 snubby, and I now see the wisdom of the pocket holster. Thanks for the advice guys. I like having the lightweight 357 option, as I already own my old trusty Dan Wesson 357 from the 70's in nickel finish, and my 38 Special S&W. So ammo wise the, even though the light weight frame may kick likd a mule, it made more sense with the LCR in 357 for me. Thanks once again guys for all your input on this subject. Still feels kind of wierd walking around armed, but is becoming more like 2nd nature everyday.

It aint the gun. It's the shooter. I've got a sneaky suspicion I could have put my FNP45 in that old skinny, hippies hands, and he would have shot his ass off as well. ;D I've seen some other "Real" shooters up there, but they got the vests with logos, fiddle around adjusting iron sites and bitch when they get off by a quarter inch or so. This guy just didn't look or act like any or those guys. What a pleasure to watch this cat shoot. 8)

Or... "You can't judge a book by it's cover" Interesting time at the range last night. Light night at the range. Just me and my son to start with. After about 20 minutes, this old skinny hippy looking dude, takes the lane next to us. Beat up old range bag. Pulls out an old, worn, but you can tell meticulously maintained Colt 1911. Then pulls out some cheap steel, no name ammo. Then sets a B17 target at 17 yards. I'm thinking "Yeah...Right"... Holds the gun one handed, (His right), and then fires around 50 rounds. Dead CENTER. You honestly couldn't see at the end but about 3 distinct holes in what was left of the red. Not fast. Just slow deliberate shooting. Really a pleasure to watch a guy like that, when I'm happy with 6 inch patterns at that distance with a 2 handed grip. Could have watched the guy shoot all night.

Nice one... Boy, Ray Stevens is sure getting old..

Finally...Plastic in Mail today...Now I've got to nerve up for my 1st Wally World walk. Kept em in vehicles (Legal in Texas) but never concealed carried before. Checked out the S&W mp360 and the Ruger LCR 5450 both in 357 mag. Both fit wonderfully in my shorts pocket, completely concealed, and no holster. I'm kind of torn on the holster thing or the loose in the pocket thing. Still yet to fire either. I like idea of being able to either 38 special, or 357 magnum. I already own a S&W 38 special, but not an airweight. Tends to drag my shorts down to my knees. I think the concealed part means you private parts as well.. ;D About 300 bucks difference between the S&W and the Ruger. Would like to A/B them to see if theirs $300 worth of difference, but no luck so far. And every fire arm store down here, the policy is "You buy it it's yours.." Thoughts from you guys???

I hear ya Asmurff. I'm a lefty and have never shot a left handed weapon yet. I think I might miss the sight of shell casings ejecting in front of my face... ;D
