asmurff Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 I roto-tilled our veggie garden area this morning in a biting cold wind, which about did me in. So now I'm going to kick back and drink Corona the rest of the day.My wife says she is going to plant this weekend, I'll believe it when I see it!
Microgunner Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Nothing hardly more beautiful than a well kept vegtable garden.
asmurff Posted April 14, 2011 Author Report Posted April 14, 2011 and nothing better than a tomato fresh off the vine still warm from the sun, or a fresh pulled radish setting your mouth on fire. Plus one of my all time favorites fried green tomatoes.
George Wood Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Good luck with your garden. I just can't help pointing out that is 82f here in Texas right now. :thumb:

Hoss Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 We've got a few plants in containers waiting to go outisde. I don't think it's been above 40 here. I almost got stuck in the foot high ruts of ice on the road by the range, I forgot they don't do maintenance back there.
asmurff Posted April 15, 2011 Author Report Posted April 15, 2011 I live in Rio Rancho NM just north of Albuquerque. To the east I have Sandia Mt and the Manzano Mts. To the northwest are the Jemez Mts, and West is Mt Taylor.

Jan Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 My wife loves her garden........ her tomatoes are legendary. Last summer she asked me to safe the 3 huge ones, because my dog keeps eating them from the bush...... I saved them from the dog, picked them and used them to adjust my scope on my Savage 64. After 20 minutes I was all set, hit that tomatoe from 200 feet no problem. My wife still hates me for that ..... ;DJan
asmurff Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 We have a small dog (Rogue) that likes cherry tomatoes, but only if they are still sun warm. The only times the dogs are allowed on the garden side is when we're picking stuff from the garden and Rogue loves to steal them out of the basket.
