rodent.22 Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 This church has seen 38 kings and queens crowned within its walls, beginning with William the conquerer who claimed the crown of England in 1066. The present church is a rebuild done in 1245....It takes 4 minutes to walk the length of the nave. A SERIOUS pile of stones....
George Wood Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 My wife and I are going to be on the other side of the pond in a couple of weeks. I will make it a point to check it out. Thanks for the post.

lmao_37 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Now THAT does sound like a fun place....LOLThe tower of London was a prison back in the 14Th and 15Th century and it is the home of traitors gate and all who entered traitors gate by barge well they came to a sticky end. Anne Boleyn wasn't beheaded with an axe she paid for a swordsman from France to lop off her head as it was well known back then that if you were beheaded with an axe it usually took more than 1 chop to remove the head, i think 2 other of Henry the 8Th's wife's were beheaded there as well. I have no idea about how many people were beheaded or died of torture or any other type of punishment back then on this site but it was a busy place. i have always wanted to visit the tower of London
George Wood Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 As I posted earlier my wife and I are in the UK this week. We visited the Tower of London today but were too late to go on the tour - will try again tomorrow. Last weekend we visited Lichfield Cathedral wow it is BIG. visiting Westminster Cathedral tomorrow morning. Looking forward to that.
