You might have noticed the Google +1 button.  Click that button while on any page to give that particular page a +1. Think of it as a thumbs up. It's page not site specific.

Google says doing so will help bring relevant content to likely visitors

I looked through the source and found that it is a small js trying to run to display the +1 --  I have been scouring my security settings to find something that is blocking it, no joy yet.

I see what you're saying now about every page getting ranked, not just the site.

You can also rate google searches which is pretty neat. A little smarter than the star system. While I hate google ads and such I do believe given the choice google will favor content that makes them money over content that doesnt.
