Tal Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Soon...I'm looking all the time and educating myself. I'm about halfway there that I NEED (Want?) a 223. My old Remington 742 in 30-06, that in 30 some odd years I think I've shot 50 rounds through it. The AR15, with all the conversions for 22 LR are awfully appealling. I can see one under my Christmas tree at the latest. Earlier if I get to the point I have to have it, or a great deal comes along at a gun show...And yes...Curse you Drew...
imschur Posted September 15, 2011 Author Report Posted September 15, 2011 Hey man Im still giggling about a sentence that included guns, jazz and Jimmy Bruno ;D
Tal Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Hey man Im still giggling about a sentence that included guns, jazz and Jimmy Bruno ;DCompletely true...The great jazz guitarist, Jimmy Bruno, is a certified gun enthusiast. His interest began when he was nearly car jacked by a bunch of BG's. Read the full story below.http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=27803And here's a vid of my hero tearing it up on guitar. One of the coolest cat's around.. 8)

Microgunner Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 I voted for "within 3 months" (because of Tal's reply). Made it easy for me man.Hey Tal, the AR platform has become the "thing" because it not only looks good, but also because it performs good as well. A nearly irresistible combination.
Madhouse Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 If Tal and I can connect at a range one day, it will be the following day that he buys one.

Tal Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 Didn't make it to the Brown, but I aint out of the race..
Tal Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Good! 'Cause it was at Reliant!
Tal Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Glad I didn't go... I would have went to the Brown. MadHouse.Have you been to any of the other High Caliber shows besides the one at the Brown?I see they come to Houston every 3 months, and Pasadena every 3 months, and Conroe every 3 months and then they start over again. The only one I've been to is at the Brown. Wonder if there are as many vendors at Pasadena and Conroe..
Madhouse Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I sire have buddy. I've been down to the High Caliber in Pasa-get-down-dena several times. There is much more at the GRB show.I've been down to P-town for "The Real Gun Show" too, never usually impressive.Your best bet is the GRB. I would tell you that I'll let you know if I hear of any outstanding deals that may come up, but they never seem to make it past my own damn collection.
Tal Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Thanks for the info MadHouse. When I went to the Brown, AJC out of Klute had the biggest inventory, and were more aggresively priced than everyone else I saw there. In fact they were so well price, I picked up my 2nd judge, and my FNP45 from them..My loves to hear me talk about going to gun shows since then.. ;D
Madhouse Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Yeah, I've dropped some cash on those AJC guys myself!
