Off to a pretty good start :) CTD Archangel 556 kit

My first post

Ordered my Archangel 556 kit almost 48 hours ago, exactly and....

Fedex knocked on my door as I was on the phone with CTD about my order.  CS @ CTD is really good.  Fedex was delivering my goods as I was speaking to them on the phone!  :)

Again, decided on CTD for my Archangel 556 stock and they had it at my door 48 hours later!

Whether or not the kit is a good one is open to debate, but I'm stoked to be able to put it together tomorrow after a visit to Academy for a fore-grip, bi pod, and banana magazine to make it complete on the first try!

Also, I just had a minor surgery on my back 4 hours ago, so forgive any screwups... maybe the pain killers working on me

My 10 yr old shooter already ran off with the fake knife!  I decided early on to throw the bayonet (knife) away as soon as it showed up at my door!

My son shoots my .357 magnum as well as my .45 1911, and is pretty proficient at handling firearms, so giving him the fake knife was not as bad as it sounds.... :)

Gotta love those .22lr tactical options out there!

Please critique :)

Rushed it sorta... just got the kit Tuesday pm, had a minor thingy cut out of the middle of my back yesterday, took a couple of hours today to assemble and bought foregrip, bipod, and Butler Creek hot lips 10 rd magazine.

Kit was about $110, grip/pod/hot lips cost $75.  For $185 bucks, I love, love, love the new look of the 10-22.

Not sure about the NcStar scope.  It looked prettty cool on my stainless all weather carbine stock.  Will prolly change it to something else at a later date.

Very cool..

Have you had a chance to fire it yet? Wondering about it..

Thanks..

Nah... maybe tomorrow.  Just assembled it today :)

Bought the stock oem ruger back in January if I recall, bought the Archangel kit Monday Sept 19, just four days ago.  It showed up yesterday, Wed., afternoon 9/21.  Threw it together this morning and afternoon.

The action feels just as smooth as it did in the oem carbine stock.

Added a couple of side picatinny rails since the set of 4 pics above :)

I'm sick with the fever....:).....:)

No problem at all!  Watched a couple of youtubes showing how to put it together and it was really easy.

Hardest part was 'drifting' out the rear sight.  I swear it was welded in the dovetail slot :)

As others have mentioned, the rear oem sight gets pretty much mangled to shreds during the removal process.

I want to get out today to shoot it at the range... the action feels smooth and I expect no problems.  Bought the Butler Creek hot lip 10 round as well as a Pro Mag steel lip feed magazine.  If one acts up, I'll try the other.  Also, I think I can still use my stock magazines if needed.

In Katy actually  :thumb:

I have a yearly membership, so I shoot frequently.  Really impressed with how well this Archangel/10-22 combo shoots.  I'm far from a great shooter, but if I can put over 200 rounds down the pipe like you see above, I'll take it.

Installed a .50 BMG style muzzle brake/flash hider for fun  :thumb:

Cost $25 and added a lot of 'bling' to the 10/22

Shot 110 rounds @ 50 yards today and had a blast doing it!
