imschur
Basically the datacenter that holds the servers gets a flood of traffic in an attempt overload the system and bring it down. imschur
In our case It's anonymous. Google has a database of security flaws that the bad guys take advantage of. The bots just bounce from blog to blog or forum to forum searching for the known vulnerabilities.
