Tal
I have one son who is my only child, that graduated high school last May. He wanted to immediately join the marines upon graduation, but I talked him into giving college a try at least for a semester. He had been ROTC for 3 years of high school, and has wanted to be in the armed forces since he was a kid. He enrolled, making good grades, I'm paying for it full boat, but hell I don't mind, even though it's expensive. Good kid, works after school jobs, making A's and B's in college, 2 black belts in the martial arts, excellent shooter, and so here we are a few months into the semester and he comes home, after a mysterious 2 day disapperance with a 6 year sign up, physical passed signed up for the US Navy!!!!He has signed up for special forces, wants so badly to be a SEAL. He ships out May 3rd, for basic in Chicago, and after that onto California for SEAL training. His mothers, devastated. I'm completely speechless, but I have to honor his wishes. I've offered to get him in the building trades, as I've spent 35 years in the elevator business, and have a lot of contacts, pay for school, etc. but he has made up his mind, and I will honor his decision. He already has passed his pre SEAL test, and is training at the local YMCA. For his departure in May.I've got mixed emotions about this, But you can bet your sweet ASS, I'm going to cherish every moment between now and May 3rd. Gosh I'm going to miss him.... Tal
I'm extremely proud of him, but worred as well. I wont even tell you about his mother. At least I'll know where the hell he is.. ;DHe had taken to cage fighting the last few months for fun and profit. At least, I'm hoping, the Navy will break him of that.... ;D
imschur
Now that he's government property he will have a new set of rules to follow. It's no longer his body to abuse.
