HAVOC Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 I went to a .22LR open shoot last week. I had to borrow somebody's rifle because I don't own one. I'm looking at getting one in the next couple weeks. Either the S&W M&P 15-22 or the H&K MP5 A5 .22 LR. Being from Connecticut, I'd like to know if the MP5 is available. The weapon I used (M&P 15-22) was real fun to shoot and the ammo is dirt cheap.
scposubs Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 I have the S&W and the MP5, the both are a lot of fun to shoot. The two main differences are the sights and the weight (the MP5 is heavier than the M&P). My MP 5 is the SD model.
imschur Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Hi Havoc, Im in CT as well. We are allowed to have the GSG-5, GSG 522 so I see no reason the HK wouldnt also be available. I just havent looked for it.
Microgunner Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Welcome to T22 HAVOC.Both rifles are good choices. Don't know about CT legalities.Let us know what you decide on.
HAVOC Posted January 21, 2012 Author Report Posted January 21, 2012 I know that in CT the stock needs to be pinned (non-adjustable). With that, I think the only way I'm getting a MP5 is to buy the solid stock version. I'll hit a couple gun stores this week and see what I could find out.
imschur Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Ahh I missed this was the telescopic stock model
HAVOC Posted February 7, 2012 Author Report Posted February 7, 2012 Just came home from the LGS with my S&W M&P 15-22. I didn't see the MP5-22 in stock and didn't ask. When I head up there again (to get mags) I'll ask.
