asmurff Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 I'm just getting into reloading .223, until now I've only reloaded pistol calibers. When trimming cases as long as the length is between the "maximum length" and the "trim length" I do not need to trim if I'm not after match grade accuracy. Is this true or am I making a false assumption.
rodent.22 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 Mike I've only reloaded pistol calibers and in my case I'm unable to shoot with any real accuracy. Can't help ya....
imschur Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 yes you are correct. Also trim after resizing. Regarding resizing for .223 for an AR-15 I think you should full length resize to avoid frustration.
asmurff Posted March 3, 2012 Author Report Posted March 3, 2012 I do full length resize before trimming. I found an article at Box of Truth on resizing which says the same.I'll get busy reloading after I get rid of this cold/upper repiratory crud and can concentrate.
lmao_37 Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 Lee make a great case trimmer once you have the trimmer kit you just buy the right guide shaft and resize the trim and as its a fixed shaft its that easy i can do trim with easehttp://leeprecision.com/case-conditioning-tools/case-trimming-tools/
asmurff Posted March 4, 2012 Author Report Posted March 4, 2012 I have a RCBS case trimmer and just ordered the attachment to power it with my drill.
