asmurff Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 I made up my spring yard work list yesterday. I should be done by the middle of November. Damn I wish I'd been born rich instead of good-looking.
Microgunner Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 If you ignor it the neighbors will eventually come over and clean it up so they don't have to look at it.Just don't answer the door or phone. ;D
imschur Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 In my neighborhood I have to be first or the Mexicans will blow and rake all the debris from the neighboring yards into mine.
asmurff Posted April 6, 2013 Author Report Posted April 6, 2013 I can't do that are backyards are concrete block fenced.
Microgunner Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 I can't do that are backyards are concrete block fenced. You live in a gulag? ;D
asmurff Posted April 6, 2013 Author Report Posted April 6, 2013  Nope most of the homes built around here in the last 10 years all have block wall fences. Wooden fences won't stand up to the dryness here, and the wind can be very bad in the spring. Also wood is higher cost because of shipping cost. Not sure why but you rarely see chain link, except around business.
rodent.22 Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 Yeah when I lived in El Paso the fences were concrete block....and the roofs were gravel with the yards being mostly gravel. Didn't mow much but it was hell on the rake.
asmurff Posted April 7, 2013 Author Report Posted April 7, 2013 I don't do any mowing, cause I have no grass. Two raised bed gardens though so I have to till twice a year.
Microgunner Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 Well, if you ever get nostalgic for mowing come on down, we've got five acres and the grass grows fast in Florida. The horses keep about two and a half acres mowed so it's not too bad. You can even use our lawnmower. ;D
asmurff Posted April 7, 2013 Author Report Posted April 7, 2013 No thanks I live in FL as a kids and had to cut our yard of almost an acre every other week with a push mower, then the church's grass on the off week.
