imschur Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 I got a Magpul PRS and a Wilson Combat .22lr 1911 Conversion kit
imschur Posted December 25, 2009 Author Report Posted December 25, 2009 The Wilson .22lr is in fact a Marvel Unit 2. It looks to be made very well.
Dangermouse Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 Did rather well, but then I did purchase them myself for the wife to wrap.A 5:11 HRT Titanium Watch - the one with the sure shot calculator,And a Bushnell Elite 1500 ARC laser range finder. All I need now is the Kestrel 4500NV weather station, been waiting for the blue tooth enabled units to be launched. And a Chronograph. And all this whilst saving for my .308One step forward, two back!DM
imschur Posted December 25, 2009 Author Report Posted December 25, 2009 What is this watch you speak of? Sounds interesting
Dangermouse Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 Blurb says "About the SureShotâ„¢ ballistic calculator: 5.11 Tactical partnered with Horus Vision, makers of proven long-range ballistic software, to bring their technology to your wrist. Input your known ballistic data (bore height, ballistic coefficient, muzzle velocity and zero range), then add your environmental data (range, temperature, altitude, inclination) and the SureShotâ„¢ calculator will give you a shooting result in MILS, TMOA or SMO"I like 5.11 (pronounced "five eleven") gear, shame it is so expensive in the UK, but then I am told it is not cheap in the USA.I highly recommend their TDU Pants. I got a pair for a 3 week firearms course, involving multi positional shooting. Although, initially the knee pads looked thin, they did the job grand. They are cut well around the bum and upper legs, so if you are a slightly heavier guy, these will swallow you up without fear of splitting, or looking like you are spilling over the top.Sales pitch finished.
asmurff Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 I got a Stainless Steel 10/22 Ruger Carbine.
Dangermouse Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 Very nice. Was that self bought, or can people buy you a firearm in your part of the world? In the UK it can not be done. Sure you could get a note that says there is a gun waiting for you at the dealer, but it would be almost impossible to receive one under the tree, as a gift, due to our licensing system.DM
asmurff Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 My I filled out the paperwork ahead of time and my wife bought it for me. One of the pleasures of doing almost all our gun shopping in the same local store. That was the third one we bought this year from them along with plenty of ammo, at least one holster and a couple of knives.
asmurff Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Drat no shooting today it is only suppose to get to the low 30s today, bad tickers and cold air don't mix well. Wind chill right now is 10f degrees, which is I believe around -12c for our shooters across the pond.
Madhouse Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 The closest I got to a gun-related gift was a Bass Pro gift card. LOL.
techmike Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Got a scope mount for my M1 Garand, custom walnut grips for my CZ-82. And picking up a Ruger LCP later today!!!! Looks like we were all on Santa's good list!TM
