imschur Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 The little woman took Toby and I to Kent Falls State Park to play in the snow (not rain) On our way home. We saw an eagle land in a tree over a river. I took a bunch of pictures but I forgot to zoom and it was beyond the range of this little camera. Anyhow never saw one of these creatures before. It was beautiful and impressive. Made my day.
asmurff Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 I've only seen one in the wild and magnificent is the only word to describe it.
FS2KSTD Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 You need to come visit Drew ... baldy's are thick in these parts! They are such beautiful birds to see up close. :thumb:
techmike Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 The bald eagle has made a big come-back in Ohio. PICSMost impressive predator!TM
Microgunner Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 I see them almost weekly here in rural Florida (I work in Tampa but live in Brooksville) along with red tailed hawks, ospreys and owls. On the way to work 3 or 4 months back I saw a bald eagle swoop down a pluck a fish from the Hillsborough river. He carried the fish head first for aerodynamics. Raptors are always awesome to see.
